Bit of a story here...

I have a friend, Jake, and I am one of the people who got him started in golf. Back in high school (15+ years ago) I had and Harvey Penick Driver my Dad made for me. I no longer used it and Jake really liked it and really crushed it. When I gave him the driver he got excited cause dos too his equipment came as hand me downs from me. Somewhere along the way he started calling the driver his "Harry Pendick" Driver. After all of these years, when one of us get an unfriendly bounce we say that the Harry Pendick is responsible.

The golf god has a name, and his name is Harry Pendick

I took my four year old son to the course yesterday. He has been a couple times. He usually putts for a few minutes, hits a dozen balls and we have lunch or a snack. No coaching, no advice, just us playing around, not focused on golf but being at the golf course. So he putts for five minutes, we eat French fries and go to the range. I tee them up and he swings away. On his third swing he makes pretty solid contact and says "that's a doorbell!" I say wow nice door bell and he hits a few more but only one or two get the "doorbell" holler. I thought it was so funny but I am also so proud that he is having fun. So as he starts to lose interest, I hit a 7 iron. He has never seen me hit a golf ball, I hit it pretty solid and he starts yelling "Daddy that's a chicken bock bock!" I started laughing and he starts laughing and I ask him where did he hear that? He said he just made it up. I will from now on use his phrases for a well struck shots. What a great afternoon.

Hope you all have lots of doorbells and chicken bock bock in your future.

Great story, when me and my 3 year old hit balls in the yard he compliments every shot I hit with "Ohh that's a good shot daddy"

On a fast downhill put I always say it's slicker'n a minnow's dick.

A 300 yard drive is a "hemoglobin". Reason:

300 is a perfect game in ten-pin bowling.

Pete Weber is a famous bowler.

Chris Webber has the same last name as Pete Weber, except spelled differently.

Chris Webber infamously called a timeout he didn't have against UNC.

UNC is in North Carolina.

Pinehurst is also in North Carolina.

Pinehurst contains "pine."

Some people decorate pine trees with ornaments at Christmastime.

Hallmark is a place to buy Christmas ornaments.

Hallmark is known for selling greeting cards.

Valentine's Day is a big holiday for greeting cards.

Valentine's Day features a heart theme.

Your heart pumps blood.

Blood contains the hemoglobin protein.

What were you smokin' to come up with that one!?

He was smoking hemoglobin probably. In the lab, we call hemoglobin a "300 yard drive". Wanna know why?

Because rbc carry up to 300 hemoglobin?

"Beagle"...hitting a par 5 in 2 and 3 putting.

"Making the fish jump"...hitting your drive into the water short of the fairway.

LOL Sometimes we say like a TV commentator The bass are really jumping out here at the beautiful (insert name ) golf club here this morning or afternoon.

When my wife plays and hits one in the water she says I did a Tin Cup and actually she gets ticked off and will hit 3 or 4 from the same spot. She calls it her 'defining moment " just like he did. Thank the Good Lord she does not buy and play new balls she is content on playing with what ever we find but she will insist on putting with a new Pro V

Billy Scoop. A skied shot.

Elephant's A$£E. Same as above as it is high and stinks.

A "J Arthur". Old British company called Rank aka the shot we do not name.

He flobbed it....an attempt at a high tariff that is chunked.

Worm burner. Thin.

Dead Sheep. Uttered on the green.....still ewe....

Like the dead sheep one.

We always called a skied shot an Angel Sh@gger.

In England, Chelsea (football - soccer - team) had a player called Dennis Wise who wasn't very tall and was noted for his arrogance and fiery tackles. A shortish downhill put with a lot of break is therefore known as a Dennis Wise (nasty little five footer)

We have something similar but our is a "goodfella" as in the joe pesci character.
