Which Accessories Identify You As A Hacker?

Recommended Posts

Anyone who says you are a hacker if you use a brush to clean your clubs or wears a magnetic ball maker on your cap is full of crap. Seriously, crawl out from under your rock.

Ball retriever..... Ok, that one I agree with.... LOL

I think the true hackers are only defined by their scorecards.

I've witnessed guys shoot lights out with most of the above items, but more often than that, I've seen blade wielding, Scotty bearing, perfectly coiffed "players" shoot in the hundreds.

Looks can be so deceiving!

It matters not to me though. As long as their friendly, fast and love the game....(true hacker or not) I will extend my paw and say, "welcome to the group."

I dont understand the club cleaning brush, what do you guys use to clean your grooves in between shots?

A towel-that I have hanging from a clip on my back pocket lol. :taunt:

I use someone else's brush when they aren't looking.

All of the benefits. None of the stigma :cheesy:

Hanging from my bag for the last 2 weeks, custom made by myself.....

Couple of squirts of water, bit of brushing, grooves clean as a whistle! Nothing like clean grooves.

Available in other colours. PM me for prices!

LMAO........

Upon first glance it looked like this was one of those creatures pulled from the deep sea where light never shines...

Iron covers just means you like to take care of your equipment. Biggest thing that shows me that you are a hack is when you ask me where the fairway is and whether the 185 yard hole we are on is a par 4. Accessory equipment doesnt equate to a hack. It can mean you are a poser and that probably is a lot worse after all is said and done.

Guys, I want to clarify that there is a clear distinction between equipment and accessories. Ignore the Rules of Golf for now, because a ball retriever by Rule would be considered equipment. A chipping club as the one pictured earlier is clearly equipment. A ball retriever is an accessory. A bag full of Taylor Made or Callaway irons is equipment. Iron covers are accessories.

Love my retriever. I'm not good (10.5 right now), but the retriever allows me to grab new prov1's that have literally been hit once out of the creek. I consider the people who hit those balls (and paid for them) to be the real hackers. I'm just cheap and have a mediocre golf game.

HAHA. I figured I'd get called out for throwing a club in the mix.

One of those chipping putters...

oddputtwedge01.jpg

says no one who's ever had the shanks... wait, I could shank that too.

As far as accessories, the balding, sterioded, tattooed meathead who shows up with three ladies (wife and her friends) with beautiful swings and proceeds to get his azz kicked all over the course ... That guy's a hack and I identified that the moment I stepped on the first tee.

I proudly have a ball retriever in my bag down in Alabama and it's helped me retrieve not just errant shots but one's taken over by snakes and gators. One gator still has a ball retriever of mine.

A full bag of taylormade clubs..lol

I wasn't gonna say that, but I was certainly thinking it!.....LOL

Apologies as I think that I was the one who posted that stupid a** wedge a page or two back, lol

Though I believe that I most certainly lead the Hacker's parade with the rest of my bag, lol

Good Lord, I've never thought about before this and honest to God, noone's ever said anything or given me any looks.

Plus, most of my stuff's in pink and it goes good with my bags, all of which are primarily blue, lmao

HaHa, ya gotta love how I attempt to rationalize bein a hack :)

Stay Well My Friend :)

Funny story, but MY friends claim I'm the guy that shows up "looking like a Tour Player".....I played in a 3 day flighted event years ago. Showed up my usual self, looking sharp, ready to go. Striping it on the range like a stud, which you guys know, we all do at times. Somewhere in the ride to the first tee, I forgot how to swing the club. After being behind every tree, in a few hazards, and out of bounds once, I shoot 90. My worst day in years. I was a +2 or so at the time, and a favorite to finish this little event near the top. As we're signing our cards, I hear "dress like Fred Couples, play like Fred Flintstone"......Swear to god!!.....So, I was THAT guy!....lol

I called out a friend of a friend a few days ago on the 2nd tee box by saying "the #1 sign of a hacker is iron headcovers." He proceeded to remove every single one and throw it in the trash all while giving me the death stare. The other two guys were falling out of the cart laughing. On later holes I told him the #2 and #3 signs of a hacker were a ball retriever and golf sandals, but he refused to throw those away.

Ok, first, Madison took me to the local RW&Blue(think a nicer Goodwill) and let me just say that I came directly from the hospital and was higher than a kite....

This is the longest friggin ball retriever I've ever seen and I'm not kidding, it had to be 20-25', which, if ya think about it, whether ya go 25' out and down, or just 25' down, what are the odds of scoopin a ball with that at full extension?

Ok, Maddie said that I gave it wayyyyyy too much thought but for $2.99, I thought it was a steal, lol

The KISS hat was for MadGolfer but Maddie said that I was walkin home if I didn't put it back-

Women ;)

Ya gotta believe me, I didn't used to be this effed up :)

Fairways & Greens My Friends,

That's the one the old guy in my foursome has. He's in his 70's, shoots his age routinely and he's frugal. If his golf ball is where he can retrieve it, he's not losing his golf ball lol. And if he scoops one that's not his, he'll toss it back. He's not a take the scooper out whenever he's near a pond guy. He hits one near the edge, he's getting it back lol. And I've seen it at full extension. We've got a pond at our home course that's got a copperhead that lays on a crosstie that's in the feeder creek. It creates a peninsula where the creek comes in. Well, he hits one that carries land and bounces in the creek right next to the snake. He's not losing that ball. He extends it full on and scoops it after about 8 tries from like 25 feet. Lol

LMAO, Anyone that can scoop a ball out of murky(or clear FTM) water at 25', regardless of cap, is a badass in my book, lol-

My Grandfather was the same way, however he was never as good as your guy as he was low-mid 80's(83, 84-88) though he was a fiend with that scoop, lol. He was a doc so it's not like he had to get the balls back but he was obsessive about losin balls, lol, whether it be water or rough, though will say that he was also obsessive with the five minute limit, calling out the last minute in 15 second intervals, lmao

As I think about this, I've always blamed my father for my bein screwed up however maybe my Granddad had something to do with it also, lol

Take care Bro, Happy New Year and have a great season :)

I don't know if these get should get lumped in with towels in the pocket or on the waist though they're from Madison's little daughter and my soon to be Step-Daughter and they seemed of have brought me good juju as I won my last 3 matches in the MP Championship after she would give me one on the first tee, lol.

Ironically, she was sick for our BB finals match and wasn't on the first tee and I choked on that 3' putt to cost us the Championship ;)

Have a nice day Gents :)

A buddy of mine used to do that, went out every Friday night through the summer about 6 pm. He'd play like 6 - 9 holes depending and went to the same spots every time. He went 2 years without buying a golf ball and only played Pro-V's in that stretch.
