Back surgery sucks and he's human. Whether the story is true or not 's not surprising especially with the military drills and training he was doing. In my day job I work with a lot of military folks and let me tell you the guys doing the hardcore training, paratroopers ect.. all have joint and back issues. Hate to think Tiger did the back damage while playing soldier.

When I retired my doc said I had done silly things in my 20s that affected me in my late 30s. It's not getting any better. I have to be really careful with my back because there are days when my back says, "Nope, not today." I'm always medicated on the course.

 

As for the story itself, I place it in the "If it's on the internet, it must be true" category, especially if a guy isn't willing to put his name on it.

I for one hope it isn't as serious as this report suggests but it's maybe time to admit that his tournament winning days are a long long way behind him.

Which is why I said " may or may not be from a credible source to begin with". All of these "reports" use the same language as STP. Which tells me that they are not "hearing that Tiger has had a setback", but that they are lazy and read on Twitter that STP said it and they ran with it WITHOUT doing their due diligence. They just want to get it out there so they can say "FIRST!!!1!". The same story keeps getting reposted until it is taken for granted that it must be true.

Just my unbiased opinion but journalism has taken a mighty fall in the internet age. Everybody is in a race to be first to get their story on social media. I usually wait for it all to sort itself out over time. As for Harig, he has had several well publicized dust-ups with internet based "journalists" in the past. Not surprised he would come after anyone he doesn't deem to be on his level. As for Lusetich, he wrote "Unplayable". I highly doubt he is getting any information from the Tiger camp after that publication. And as for STP. It is a Twitter feed. Entertainment value is high, reliability, not so much.
