Remember when the sex scandal broke there were reports that Tiger had slept with his neighbour, who was 14 when he moved into the house next door. If that's true then it's pretty insidious, and imagine if they had included these kind of details in the article. Maybe there would be a law suit, but my point is that even though this article seeks to passive-aggressively assassinate Tiger's character it still paints a somewhat romanticized picture of his infidelity, and some of these more sordid details make it seem a lot more malevolent to me.

 

Why do people enjoy getting in their shots at Tiger with this kind of crap?

Thought it was a good article, I liked it, Sure most of that info was known but though it was good overall.

What it comes down to for me is, imagine growing up in his shoes, or even walking a day in them, the guy has temptations and situations we will never know about. Has decisions to make that we will never have to make. Everyone deals with losing someone differently. Growing up he had no friends, only his dad's war buddies. Seems to me his father raised a robot, and forgot to teach him how to be a person first and most of all a man. Not easy to do without a lil guidance.

People handle stress differently, I personally don't care that he cheated imo i think guys in his spot deserve it, their wives should expect it, and if they don't they really have no idea who they're marrying. Thats just my opinion.

I don't feel sorry for anyone, we all make bad decisions.

I enjoy following and watching him play golf, something he was Amazingly good at, made it look easy which we all know It definitely is not.

My only hope is that finds his closure and go on to reclaim some sort of winning or satisfaction on tour, It really would be great to watch.

Depends. When my buddy and I hit b-dubs sometimes he pays, sometimes I pay, sometimes we get separate checks.

 

I usually don't drink and he's not comfortable having me split his alcohol bill.

 

That stuff about splitting it is VERY general. Be careful.

No I'm just talking about regular guys--- Frankly I've rarely had "separate" checks with friends or even couples. We just split up the bill equally. Now if someone orders food or drinks substantially out of line, then they would offer up to throw in extra $$'s.

 

Separate checks with guys do happen, but that is why I said "typically would not."

FWIW, one of Richard's father's teammates(the only time that he's every corected me in 14 years was when I addressed one of his teammates as "a former teammate," and he said simply, "their is no such thing as a 'former' teammate) related the story basically ver batum however as he heard it from one of the SEALS at the table, it was not nearly as awkward as the article made it appear. Actually two spoke up and asked for separate checks. I was not going to say anything about this however I spoke to Dick last night and he had no problem with me posting this. The other thing his teammate said is that most of the guys at the table understood and attributed it to Tiger being a little socially awkward because they were also on the beach and a lot of these guys are magnets and they were flirting with some girls and they were telling these girls that this was "Tiger effing woods" and Tiger was laughing though he had a hard time having a conversation with the girls. They found that amazing. The only group of SEALS that had an issue, and it was a small group, and you get this in every group of Alphas, and that is if you're not one of them, if you haven't been through what they've been through, then you're not ........ Dick and his teammate are not like this and in fact I see where Richard gets his edge with football Players or golfers who are like this because his father will tear into a surgical resident if they take this attitude. The SEALS were fine and Tiger was fine. I find it amazing how some will just look for anything to slam this guy. Appreciate him for the enjoyment that hopefully his golf has provided you. We will not see another like him for a lonnnnnng time :) Maddie

See I knew there was more to this story than just an awkward silence waiting for Tiger to pick up the bill!

Split checks, separate checks, who the hell cares. There is no "usual", but in all the years I've been having meals out I've never seen any issue with people just paying for what they ordered and not expecting anything different.

 

Appreciate the story Maddie. And Richard, dads always let our wives or sweethearts or daughters (!) get away with plenty!
