Luke Donald testing new JPX 900 driver

Recommended Posts

These types of vids are more about taster promotion opportunities, rather than testing. These Pros or more aptly the OEM's that they are paid by, use people like Crossfield, and the poor ol Pros just have to suffer Crossfield prattling on, being rudely interruptive and nauseatingly childish, for a few holes of Golf. But Crossfield won't stop, it's his personality to be a clown, and in spite of him not actually realizing just how rude and stupid he looks most of the time, he ain't gonna change. Personally, I don't watch his vids any more really, but until somebody with a more respectful manner comes along to take his place, he'll continue to get viewers, and viewers bring the OEM's a running. I've now started to watch his 'mate' Buzza, who's manner is quite Professional and soundly more informative.

No problem. It appears that Luke may of been a little annoyed with Mark in that third video. For the love of God Mark let Luke talk.

Rinky Dinks.

How old is Mark..?

Too old for that s***.

Behind all that larking about is someone not afraid to question convention, someone who actually thinks about his methods and subject matter and comes up with some great thoughts. ....I suspect most Brits are a tad embaressed by his antics but for me he is having fun, which a lot of people don't really have when it comes to golf.

I think that is true in many respects. However, I'm not convinced if it is pre-requisite to be rude and odious to have fun. Also, anyone can challenge convention....that's easy, but it doesn't make them right. I'm not sure if I'm embarrassed by his antics or whether it's just annoyance by his bad manners. I think his bad manners ultimately come from his own insecurities, which is not an attractive trait. There's a few pubs that he would do well to stay away from over here, as he's very much the type of guy who would get a smack in the chops for shooting off his mouth so much. Anyway.........as for the JPX 900 Driver, I haven't seen the vid, purely because it's Crossfield involved, so I'll wait for a more in depth review that I'm sure will arrive soon enough.

From what I can see in that picture, the big "weight" looks to be a way to adjust the face angle when the club is soled on the ground, similar to what TM did with the R11, R11S and R1. There are three positions of open, neutral and closed written below the track. The other slots are the weight slots that the JPX 850 had to control spin and directly of ball flight. I'm excited to see what it looks like on the top

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder how this will also be affected by changes in loft.

...And the honor of playing with Coach Lockey! But stephen buzzer was not around. Lol. Crossfield has a crazy group of associates.

Oh, I missed all the crossfield hating. In my opinion he is just being entertaining , I actually would 100% give mark crossfield credit for firing me up enough to play golf. He makes golf very accessible, he debunks the bull, doesn't sell his soul and is timeless. For the first years of his youtube feed, people said he was all for Mizuno, but it was callaway that hired him to go to the Masters. So I wouldn't think he is beholden to anyone in particular, in fact I think that is his mantra, whatever he believes in at the moment is who he works with.

Even though he works with callaway he uses titleist balls because he loves the way they support players and hes played them since he was a kid.

And last but not least he has fun! which we should all be doing more of.

He said in the last video that I have seen that he has just changed to the Chrome Soft...just the irons to go now and he'll practically be a Callaway staffer ;-)

I miss the gorilla James.

I think he left marks shows just as they were about to take off in popularity but he was a very good character.

Not sure about the 900 but hit a few with a friend's 850 today. And fully understand why LD uses TM. Awful club and very short.

Tried nearly every driver since 2015 and nothing has been able to dethrone my 850. I've desperately wanted it to because I'm no fan of a blue driver and don't love the sound of it, but nothing can keep up in terms of distance and control. To each his own though. I switch between the RIP Beta and Hzrdus Black.

Disappointed that this one has a blue crown too but at least it sounded better in the video.

He gives it out, but can't take it back, his own insecurities lends itself to surrounding himself with subservient types who are too weak to give it back. He should do some time out in Australia, where they really know how to sledge, he wouldn't last 5 mins.....now that would be real entertainment.

Does anybody know the release date? I supose they will present the new irons (and hopefully wedges) in the week before The Open, as usual, but last time the driver has been shown around the same date, but released only in January, with some exceptions.

Mizzy drivers usually drop in November, irons in September. Usually.

another driver he wont put in play. There are 2 things Luke cant afford losing right now....which are distance and hair.

Not exactly sure what your point is

He played the mp600, jpx850 and jpx EZ for fairly extensive periods
