For the record I agree with you. I don't see any better upside for him than he would

have staying right where he is. He has nothing to prove. The world already knows

his caliber as a head coach and has seen the results he can bring.

 

Wasn't that long ago that I was pissed off at Trevor Lawrence and Christian Wilkins

and Dabo for putting a thorough beating on Tua and the Tide.

 

The only question for Clemson is what is going to become of the ACC and are they

planning an exit?

Ha, nice. He’s made a handful of appearances in Clemson….a couple unannounced as I understand. His daughter is a student there and he was of course repping his tequila. I was there when he showed up once, seemed like a real cool guy, gave me shite about my boots lol. I don’t do tequila but I do brown liquor ha ha. I’m not trying to stand in line for him, I sort of turned around, stepped on his foot, and accidentally chested up to him 🤣….without which I would not have talked with him. He was real cool and I appreciated it!

According to my source for wild speculation and rumor mongering....The Red Cedar Message Board (MSU 247 Sports)...peeps in Eugene, OR are suddenly very nervous.  Dan Lanning evidently has SEC ties.  Maybe road trips to EL or C-Bus or New Brunswick has lost some of its appeal.

 

With Saban now out of the picture, does this mean some serious talent is about to enter the porthole?  Poaching an Alabama player or two would be sweet.  Hope we saved some NIL $ to make it rain down yonder.

those rooms now need new paint. So I've been painting and WRXing the past 2 days, before

So much chaos and new concepts in recent years. NIL, transfer portal, opt outs, conference

realignments. Players are like "where's the money?". Head coaches are head cases.

 

So Saban says "I'm opting out" and flies down to his new house in Miami.

 

Those guys were right. He could not have timed this better...unless, of course the Tide

had beaten Michigan and then Washington and he had his 8th Natty.

All depends on when Saban came to the conclusion that it was time to retire.  Some point during the season?  After the Rose Bowl game?  And when he revealed those intentions to the AD.  Certainly a tight inside group could quietly create a working list of possible candidates.  Those that met program criteria.  But there could not be any formal contacts with a candidate from another program as long as they were still playing.  Certainly backchannel communications to gage level of interest.  Not an automatic that they had something in place.  If the Saban replacement is announced quickly, then yeah, Alabama had something in the works.  If it takes awhile, I'd suggest maybe not.

 

Keep this in mind as well.  Especially for a HC already at a top tier, established program.  There's always pressure to win.  Comes with the territory of being a HC.  But that pressure is amped up exponentially at FB programs like an Alabama.  Especially now.  The old saying goes...Don't be the guy who follows a legend.  Be the guy that follows the guy who follows a legend.  

 

Otherwise, haven't a clue.

Assume no one in this joint pays any attention to Women's CBB.  I don't follow it much either.  Nevertheless, Iowa's Caitlin Clark is highlight reel every game she plays.  Inside, outside, passing.  A ridiculously good BB player.  Curry-esque.  This isn't a one time thing, she makes this sort of shot seemingly every game.  She drained a shot from downtown at the buzzer to beat the Lady Spartans last week.
