Man, my wife’s godfather started assembling tools when he was about 12 or 13. He built a massive collection of Snap On  over many decades.  About 15 years ago in his mid 60s his lifetime collection of Snap On mechanic tools got stolen from his home. His guess is it was something around $65k worth of tools plus the Snap On tool chest which couldn’t be replaced for any amount of money today. Unbelievable. F thieves.

In the 1990s, STD was still the abbreviation for standard and penicillin shots still

Ok last one.  Need to go stopwatch the toilet tank float.  (working on root cause of vortex direction in the bowl and I’m almost there).

 

Just watched a tv commercial for Lume.  It’s the stuff that Lady Doc invented that kills any form of odor anywhere it could emanate from for 72 hours.  She just said there’s a new/improved version.  She explains many customers were turned off by the smell of the previous product and after going back to the drawing board, this one smells better.  
 

And during production of the first million bottles, not one living soul thought to mention there may be a smell problem with our smell killer?  How many canaries went belly-up in the cage before some hit the stop button?

Yep I think the same but that scene tomorrow would  read “ 6 players hospitalized , 2 didn’t make it , fans freeze to death in parking lot “.     So there’s a line of no go.  It’s just only possible in Buffalo or maybe at Green Bay ,  I think .

My favorite part of that whole thing is the commercial where the lady claims she doesn’t have time to shower.  It always makes me go “ ew. Wtf “.  And then the answer is to order some cream ?  That’s like the old spray that was supposed to kill cigarette smoke smell.  It doesn’t work .

Or several million stating---- I was killed by a salt gun at Indigo Creek GC in Murrells Inlet SC. Yeah we had the salt gun thing going for a while. Our late Pro Co Owner started it. Yeah 3 or 4 of us got those things and the war begun. Not that we had that many flies on the patio but we started baiting for them. Sort of a scene from Tin Cup in our way. It was real fun for me since it was in my convalescent days. I could pull up at the bag drop in the afternoons and ask--- Am I putting or shooting flies today? The guy on the bag drop would say well Aj and Jimmy are on the porch. Ok get my salt shooter and my container of Morton salt. Hey only the best for our flies

NFL playoffs often are 20-28 million viewers. I think I read (it was yesterday and I’m now old and had two old fashioneds) the NFL was hoping for 20M viewers. Same folks still believe in the Easter bunny. 
 

I read they had 6 million.  This is astounding considering 2/3 of the country is either in a deep freeze or very wet, with absolutely nothing else to do. (Well, almost nothing.  Honey?)

Perhaps too soon to know last nights numbers but agree w/ @nitram that I hope they tank. Fans not in the NFL equation. Unless they have to deal with frozen bodies in Buffalo I guess.

I am trying to rationalize and reduce what we have on the TV. Here is what I like to watch:

 

Clemson football and a few other college FB games. 
NBA

Soccer

College wrestling 

Golf majors (Masters and British Open are the ones I really like)

 

None of these are “can’t live without it.” Here is what’s running on my TV:

 

Youtube TV

Amazon Prime Video

Netflix (I could stop this without a second thought but my wife likes it, so eh…)

 

No additional streaming subscriptions, but I want to see if I add one or two, can I dispense with YouTube TV (and Netflix) and not miss much.

Some of mine are different, rugby, cycling…but agree w your sentiments. 
 

I’ve been a life long OU football fan. Never missed an OU-Texas game and usually 3or4 home games every year with Dad, who was rabid. Until I went to college. Lately I’m getting to where I don’t care much. Too much NIL. No school loyalty or team continuity with the transfer portal. Unbelievable conference realignments for network money. Washington and Oregon in same group w/ Rutgers and Maryland?  Get real. Losers are the other sports. My daughter played D1 volleyball. I couldn’t imagine her traveling b/w the entire coasts now. 
 

Pro basketball lost me long ago. Nothing like my hero’s Larry Bird and Magic. Pro football is rapidly heading the same way. 
 

And to be honest, the sport we all love here, golf, is nothing like it was just a few years ago. For better or worse, your call. 
 

Most days when it’s nice I’d rather walk a few holes or ride road or mountain bikes than watch TV.
