Jon Rahm vs Bryson DeChambeau, who gets a tour win first?

Rahm will probably win more than Byrson in his first 5 years, but Byrson will have greater career.

I see with time Byrson will learn more and more about every course he plays and that really will benefit him more than it would most golfers.

Hopefully that knowledge translates into higher finishes sooner tather than later or else he'll be selling yardage books instead of playing golf.

Also, his name is Bryson. :derisive:

can't stand the swing, but the guy has loads of talent. What he has done this year on tour has been very impressive.

i love it. Seems pretty hard to mess up from his position at the top. Just rotate down and through.

Rahm has played 6 events this year, made 6 cuts, finished 3rd and a 2nd. That's pretty good.

Heck, I'd say that's really really good. Ain't easy to play your way on to tour. Pretty short list--Tiger, Ryan Moore, maybe Duval too (?), maybe one I'm forgetting? Add Rahm to it.

Gary Hallberg, Scott Verplank, Phil Mickelson, Justin Leonard, Tiger Woods, Ryan Moore, Bud Cauley and Jordan Spieth were some of the players before John Rahm to earn their tour card without going to Q-School.

Thanks for that! (Apparently my memory is going to crap....)

That Spieth kid didn't go to Q School.

Spieth did attempt q-school in 2012 as an amateur and failed to advance out of 2nd stage. Interesting tidbit.

Yes he did. Didn't make it, earned no status anywhere. Complete failure, probably bump around the hooters and tight lies tours before taking a club job somewhere.

Doesn't mean anything because it's Web.com right?

Well it means he'll have more opportunities on The TOUR going forward, but for this thread, no

run of the mill driver with stock shaft
a couple of outdated hybrids
shovel-ier shovels
wedges from same shovel company
some putter with a dead insert and
a hideous grip

DeChambeau's victory on the Web.com most likely secured his PGA Tour Card for 2017.

In the process of winning today he his 16 of 16 fairways during regulation and 2 playoff holes.

He hits the ball extremely straight and has very strong distance control. On top of that he is a good putter.

I love his swing and would certainly recommend it for a junior golfer. Very efficient use of the body.

Nope. Minor leagues don't mean anything.
