I wouldn't call one better than the other. Just different.

 

I've got an In-N-Out and a Five Guys half less than a mile away across the street from one another (and with a McD's across from them) so I can take my pick. When I want a simple burger to go, In N Out does it, but when I'm after something more substantial with it's Five Guys. Sometimes it's as simple whether or not I want bacon.or some topping In N Out doesn't have. And sometimes I gotta have some animal style.

 

Put another way, since In N Out came to town, I stopped getting burgers from the local McD's, BK, etc. Since Five Guys came to town, I haven't ordered a burger from the Red Robin or Chili's closer to my house.

 

I will say I much prefer Five Guys fries, although I've been known to get my burgers from either of those places and then swing through the McDonald's drive thru for fries. Especially since ours does garlic fries.
