Rory averaging 302 as of this morning at the South African Tourney. He averaged 306 in 2016 per PGA Tour website. Seems in line with what I would have expected. I'm sure end of 2017 his distance will be roughly the same +/- 5 yards

Different shaft in the fairways. Anyone notice what it was?

He switched from the kuro kage xts?

Oops, I was thinking of Jason Day. Rory might have been testing a kk xts, but he's been playing a rombax p95 for years. I think he's still using it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Toulon hasn't been involved and machined the custom putter for him and left space for the insert to be added.

It's a shame Odyssey didn't launch with this look instead of the Versa, personally i think the cleaner the better.

Either Sean Toulon or Austie Rollins would have been the one to produce it but honestly Callaway has the largest golf R&D in the world and a building full of CNC machines. A dozen guys could have cranked this out then ground by hand to soften edges ect..

They sure seem to have their "A" game working right now. My buddy who is not really a "club ho" called me asking about the Epic yesterday, there is a "buzz" going on.

I'm guessing it's a Rombax P95 with a special paint job. Didn't fujikura make a few of the recent Pro 95 shafts with that look, the blue and black? (i know I saw one in a tour issue Callaway xr 16 recently) I'm pretty sure they're the same shaft as a Rombax P95

I really like my R-Line, but I love this look. Hopefully something like this will be released in the future.

yes, the R-Line serves its optical purpose...this insert looks to be the real deal - it requires a classic look. in reality they might be able to bite into the NON INSERT market IF they quit with the funny business. the traditional buyer - is going Cameron every day on looks alone over the R-Line. they would look seriously at the benefits of a prototype Rory putter (released to public).

looks like a 8z08 paint job (which is no doubt really pro 95 - good fairway shafts stand the test of time)

then combine that with the new insert. when you have a good thing - its not a bad thing to change plans mid stream.... i feel that TM kind of had that same epiphany last year. the m2 was going to be the second tier "boring" game improvement driver (i'm painting with a wide brush stroke here) and they accidentally caught lightning in a bottle. of course it was supposed to be "good" but probably not as good as it ended up being. they went with it and it took over the tour.

Or, instead of a special edition complete with jacked up price and limited availability, why not just release a decent looking putter in the first place?

I only got to hear some of highlights but they said he almost drove the 1st green and that was 392 yards? WTF!!!!! Is that true?

I did see early this morning as I was getting ready for work that he pounded one on a tight driving hole 350 yards. He was so close he couldn't control the spin and it went to the back of the green/fringe. Good lord. I know the driver is Epic but Ror's is a beast!

Wow, some people act like Rors putter is the first thing Odyssey has ever released that they would bag.

If you hate everything they release so much, go buy a Cameron or something else.

Looks like a Fuji, like fuji pro 95 or something. I'm probably wrong though

EDIT: Should have scrolled down the thread a little more haha, I'd agree it's a Fuji with paint job for marketing purposes.
