Any word on if Rory's custom made model will have any influence on, or be released as, Cally's next retail MB offering?

Not sure if this is the right place to put it, or if it's been stated in here already, but is anybody else blown away a bit by him using an Odyssey putter now?? And no Cally contract??? Kind of nuts he's making all these switches after winning so much with Nike/Scotty. Callaway might have the real deal going on right now.

Makes total sense to me. Rory has a great deal with Nike and now that they're out of the equipment game he's free to play whatever suits his game best. I'd say it's the perfect scenario for him. Doesn't need the extra equipment deal money, and likely never will.

If a company like Callaway Golf will spend the money and mill you irons to your exact specs I would think Rory would take notice (even more so since he wasn't under contract). Clearly, he liked the outcome, liked what the Epic SZ driver had to offer him and found a putter that suited his eye and matched the feel he was after.

Sounds like Rory said he might be making club changes throughout the season. That would further reinforce what others are saying, that he's not being paid.

Im not really a Callaway fan, their clubs never have looked right to my eye and their woods lie angle always looked weird to me..anyway their newer stuff has been really nice and the new Epic line looks nice in person and feels great, cant wait to hit them and see how they feel. Rorys iron design to me look more like Taylormade blades than say titleist or nike, if those are truely callaways new mbs they look pretty nice. I dont think Rory will gain a lot from gaming the new Epic vs his Nike driver or M2 unless he starts to swing faster...I do think its great marketing for Callaway to have him start the season out with that driver right when they are releasing it, I bet it helps boost their sales..

The fact that these have a muscle back design like a handful of other models out on the market is not a big deal either way.

These are the exact same irons Jason Gore was testing back in the late summer (well before Nike got out), so these are not one-offs for Rory but definitely prototypes. Even my source in the tour department there doesn't know exactly if these will become the retail blade or not.

These are 100% custom in the same way that his Nikes were 100% custom. Same look as retail but ground differently, different finish, COG, whatever Rory wants. But I have seen the new Callaway blades in a satin finish that look exactly like these. The new offering might not be this exact grind or shape which is made for Rory, but they're pretty damn close.

Looks like an Odyssey proto, similar shape to his old Scotty GoLow, Cally are sure going the extra mile for Rory.
