I bought a previously used Vokey Spin Milled 2009 60*/8* which someone shafted with an Adams shaft pull (TT Black Gold). I couldn't miss with this thing. There was literally no need for another wedge in my bag, long/short, flop/flighted, this club did it all. Then I had it bent to change the loft and I couldn't even swing it. I've been searching for a magic Vokey ever since. I wish TT still made the Black Gold shaft, that would help.

I guess it depends on what types of shots we're talking about. I've only had it for maybe six weeks, but my Ping Glide ES 58-degree is just ridiculously good out of the bunkers. I've always been a good bunker player, but this thing has taken it to another level- it seems like every bunker shot I hit ends up a foot or two from the hole. Much better than my lag putting lately.

I've wanted to try the ES. It's the way the soul blends into the hosel.

Give it a shot. So far, I am pleasantly surprised. I thought I'd have a tough time with flop shots, but it has performed nicely on those as well. The ground is of course soft this time of year, so it remains to be seen how it's going to be when things firm up, but so far I'm all in.

I've been smitten with the Wilson Staff FG Tour wedges (tour grind) for a few seasons now. In true WRX fashion, I pulled the stock shafts and replaced with Nippon WV115's. Stockpiled a few when they dropped to < $50 & will transplant the shafts when it's time.

Although a little unforgiving, for performance my all time favorite is the original cobra trusty rusty. I've never been able to spin a ball like I did with the trusty. I have had my macgregor tourney forged 60 in the bag for over 10 years and can't let it go. The grooves and face are all worn down but I love that club and can't find anything else to replace it.

Another vote for the Sonartec t35 proto. Really clean looking wedge and awesome feeling with a versatile grind.

The Callaway x-forged with the original mack daddy grooves where loads of fun aswell. Being able to hit low spinners from any lie and from any length

MD3 have been fantastic for me I have the 50 standard grind the 54 standard gring and the 58 wide grind they just work!!!!

I have looked at more exotic vega, miura, epon etc but the MD3 wedges just keep delivering the goods and saving my Word not allowed when I miss the green in reg or hitting pitches into the green.

They just work they check up really well.and the bounce just suits me.

Here in the north of England UK it`s rather wet and the ground is soft.

Anyway back to my Tea and Biscuits.

Vokey TVD K grind (sm5 version) 58.10 bent to 60.12, raw black, no lame stampings (not that stampings are lame but it looks much better clean)

No other club in my bag is as secure as my lob wedge is

I love it more than bobcat loves his sldr c driver

Wilson JP II 55 degrees.

It's considered old school junk these days, but the sole grind was perfect for most any shot you wanted to pull off with it.

I wouldn't consider it junk! I've got a Walmart version shaped like that I bought for my son about 10 years ago that I love. It's an awesome wedge 2nd only to the Eye2 to me!

Ping Eye2s!

I was a big fan of the Taylormade rac TPs. They looked so sharp back then compared to everything else. I remember when I worked grounds crew at my local 9 hole back in high school I used the grinding wheel on hand to add a little C-grind after the grooves were well worn. Didn't look pretty but it worked.

I was also a huge fan of the Calloway x-forged wedges. If I could find them new, I'd kick out the SM6s currently in the bag.

No clue if it's a "best" wedge because I haven't played a lot of high-end wedges, but I recently picked up MacGregor VIP Black Milled wedges from Golfsmith closing and the Sw and Gw are some of the first I've ever been able to stop in place or back up with spin... some of it is playing substantially more, but at least some of it is the EXTREMELY aggressive milling on the face (no clue if it's conforming or not).

I have played them all also. Trusty Rustys were always a little clammy but extremely easy to play and with min bounce you become a flop-master. Sm4's were nice too but got hooked on Scratch a few years ago and have two sets of Tours and they are hands down the best I have used. Long, accurate, easy to flight and feel like they last so much longer than other wedges. Fun readings here!!

- Something that continues to go long off the tee in the fairway
- Something that is a fairway finder when needed and long
- Something that high, consistent and helps with par 5’s
-  Something to help with long par3’s and short par 4’s

-  Something metal, lots of them and go the gaps I need
- Something metal, 2x of them and helps me 120y and in
- Putters - limited rotation because I cannot afford misses

Golf is what you make of it.  Play grateful and accepting. We are all lucky to have it.

Rather than expecting lets all try and appreciate instead.
Treat people the way you want to be treated

Callaway X-Forged C-Grind with the MD grooves. Never had so much confidence in hitting all types of shots with one club. Played it until the grooves stopped working.
