Have they done something about the short par 4 where everyone was bombing driver over the back into the grandstand and getting easy drops last year? Without it those would be in the water long presumably, just doesn't seem right.

couldn't agree more! it is literally a free drop..........hit into the backstop, no ob. and then 2 club lengths from the grandstands. Thus no penalty stroke. Us humans could not do that, although I can carry it 280 anyways, lol

But seriously, the best estimate they've come up with is a 370 yard carry and total distance over 400 yards. Shotlink says distance "unknown."

Rory's drive on 12 flew the first fairway, across the rough, through the cart path, and on the second fairway. It's a 580 yard par 5 and he's got 173 left. Outdrove his playing partner by about 80 yards, and his playing partner drove it 332. I know we probably should dial back the ball, but that was entertaining as hell to watch.

He's flirted with another putter at least one other time that I can remember (couple years ago). He's going to have to do something because the face of his gamer is literally falling to pieces. Surely he has some back-ups exactly like old faithful?

Yeah he used that Bridgestone putter on a couple events, but that putter loked very similar to his Rossie. I've heard that they have changed the insert of his Rossie a few times.

 

I don't blame him for changing it up a little, but I do think it's sad. I like the players that use the same putter for a long while. Makes me believe that I could become one of those people one day. Also sad to see Kaymer swapping out his old Ping for a new Taylormade that looks identical.

Match play is interesting. It seems like when these guys get down buy too much, their scores can get wonky. But then again, obviously total strokes doesn't matter. I would guess we can expect more birdies and more bogeys from everyone?

Is it bad that I enjoy watching Danny Willett play badly? There's just something about him that really grinds my gears.
