How much would you sell your game for?

Hypothetically... if you could sell your game for a certain amount of money, what is the minimum you would sell it for? Everything ingrained in your head and body; swing, thoughts, experience, etc... gone like magic. If you played again, you would essentially be starting over from scratch, but with the knowledge that you have lost everything you once had golf related.

 

Obviously for many top juniors and young adults in competition with a realistic shot and hope of making playing golf their career, the number would be sky high, probably well into the 6 or 7 figures for some depending on financial stability. I could see some taking a "buy out" for $100,000 or less depending on their situation.

 

My number would likely be in the low 5 figures- $20,000 or so. I put a fair amount of work into the game growing up but nowhere near as everyone who plays at a high level. I get enjoyment out of my game as it is without having to maintain it and would not be happy hacking it around retracing my steps as a junior. It would probably mean the end of golf for me though.

$5 million. Some rich guy with more money than he knows what to do with would pay it. How many people try to buy a game now by buying the most expensive equipment thinking that's the answer? There's no question that there are people who would spend the money for the easy way. It's just finding somebody with that much disposable income. Maybe I could sell my game to Bob Parsons.

My game would be like one of those TV "flip" show houses. Put a driver (distance only) or putter in my hand and I could get a nice bidding war started. As long as they don't inspect close enough to see me hit a 4 iron, I could get a few thousand. Add a little for some club building knowledge and I might be able to buy a late 90s Honda civic with my earnings.

Mine would be in one of those areas on the side while you're shopping whether it's groceries or for a new fridge, that's like markdowns or hit-dents. You have to ask one of the sales clerks after looking at the normal prices then saying 'ya have anything else cheaper?" and they look around for the boss, then say "if you don't have to have the top of the line, go over there and check one of those out, it's pretty much just as good, and you can save a bunch, trust me"....

 

So yeah, my golf game, not sure what to charge but if you want to buy it compared to whatever some of these other posters are going to want, you can save maybe 50-75% (trust me)... :dntknw:

I've got some trophies in my possession and some great tournament rounds I'm proud of.

 

I'd dump my game for a 100 000 and happily spend the time and money trying to get back to near scratch. (3-4 handicap presently).

My swing is probably wanted as much as herpes. My golf mindset is reminiscent of tangled headphones. The only thing I could actually get someone to pay for is probably my used clubs. I'll aim high and say 1k Canadian.

My wife would pay a metric crap ton for me to quit golf... she's sly though and would use money from our joint bank account.
