USGA completely blew it today. At least Mike Davis is out there on national TV admitting it.

 

What's all this BS about "oh the wind blew more than we thought". It wasn't even blowing that hard. It's not like they suddenly had a tornado pick up. The wind was maybe 5mph more than the lightest they could possibly hope for. How can you set up a course in such a stupid way that a 5mph difference makes it unplayable?

Waverly Woods Update:

 

No bueno. I don't know what they've done to their greens but about half of them are suffering from pretty bad burn out, and all of them are completely marred by pitch marks that people leave behind. They're completely different than when I played the course last Saturday. How can they go to sh*t in 1 weeks time? It was a slow round today so i was fixing a lot of them....5-6 per hole and that didn't come close to the number of divots. Between the divots, burn out, scars, gashes, replaced turf on the green, cup locations that aren't healing etc etc etc....I'm not sure it's worth playing there for the time being unless you get a good deal on GolfNow.

Planning to play Kiskiack, Fords Colony, Kingsmill Woods Course.

The Viniterra Club seems to be a hike from Kingsmill.

Weird thing is, Ive been scoring consistent as a few weeks ago when I was hitting it really well. Just want to get back to normal!

Shut the face (15 degree closed) and force yourself to hit it out to the right.

 

of course that could make you hold off so be mindful of that.

Two tees, three balls inbetween. Make the divot START on the target side of the tees. Adam Young drill, Google it. It helped me, hope it helps you too!

So the result of this is usually a weak bleeding fade like flight that is a club or club and a half shorter than normal.

Got to sneak in 36 holes today since the GF and pup are out of town.

 

WM - why have i never played it before? Got in a round with Dom, his bud, and Mark. Props to the wedding party that went out before us, blasting music. Played pretty okay, then really bad, then pretty okay.

 

Also snuck in a twilight at falls road when driving home. It’s refreshing occasionally to play a course that isn’t out to get you.
