i'm a huge koepka fanboy so this weekend was wildly successful. His scrambles / saves on the back 9 were outrageous.

 

Got out for 18 with Cfree and HBD yesterday prior to fathers day stuff - great time with those guys. While I'm jealous that some of you will sneak in 54+ holes on Thurs, i cant say I'm the biggest fan of LB's gimmicks/forced shots.

 

Have another scramble out at PB Dye on friday. I'm pretty sure i've played PB Dye 6 times in the past two months or so...

 

Lastly;

 

Mark R and I are going to try and work in 18 holes on Thursday 6/28 at a really early time (6:30 start maybe?) and then head over to the QL National, if anyone wants in...

For what turned out to be a good tournament by all accounts, I just couldn't really get interested for some reason. I watched probably a grand total of 1.5 hours over 4 days.

I agree with you on LB. I'm never itching to go play there for a normal 18 when I could be at PB Dye, Worthington, Blue Mash, or Clustered Spires instead. But most of the issues with LB go away because of the format we play. Plus they treat us really well there for this event, both in terms of price and service.

 

Each round, you have to play 6 each from the reds, whites, and blues. #3 is a weird hole from any set of tees. #9 and #18 are still tough because of the forced carry. You're hitting from 150 even with a perfectly placed tee shot from the front tees.

Toph hit a half swing wedge into 13 from middle of fairway to a front pin. Landed in right rough kicked left softly and that green repelled the shot all the way left off the green. Cringeworthy.

It was the obvious choice to kill some of the ball's momentum to leave him with some kind of putt. Anything that landed on the putting surface didn't really stand a chance...

You are correct. I was thinking that golds were the "red" tees (most forward) there. Didn't realize they have actual red tees that are one box forward of what we are playing.

Had a really nice Father's Day. We went out as a family and played the front 9 at Northwest Park.

 

My son was getting salty because he started out double, some bogies, and was in his pocket on #6. I told him, hey, you're doing better than me. I was crap until #6, where I had a really good sand save for par. The boy and I played better for 7-9.

 

My wife is striking the ball pretty well. She doesn't it to far, but she advances the ball pretty consistently. My daughter was killing the ball. As a gymnast she's so strong and flexible. Too bad she doesn't play much. I think this was her first time on a course this year.

I kind of forward press. Never thought about getting loft added.
