MD/DC/VA Golfers - This One Goes to Eleven

We require 10+ rounds in last 12 months, minimum of 5 in current calendar year. The pro had to call my FIL's clubs because he didn't have enough scores in the system. He had thumb surgery with a much older, lower handicap. He was probably a 11-12 playing off 6.8 in the event which def hurt us in the flight. You can't play scratch golfers 1v2, even with a couple strokes when one guy is out of half the holes.

Lol @ Phil.

Hey everybody!

Terp! What's up?

Got married. Went on a honeymoon. Trying to golf while avoiding heat indexes above 110 degrees. Just you know, the usual.

Well done on the humblebrag and the nuptials. Our own dear Juicer off the market folks. Dry cleaners everywhere lament the loss of income that they had coming in from wet panty cleanings.

Marriage doesn't have to mean off the market.

Right Tigger?

I've never played in a member guest, but every year that I was a member of a club that held one, the only thing that anyone in the club talked about afterwards was how some guest posted 3 scores in the last 12 months, came in as a X handicap, and shot way below his cap to help the team win the flight and shootout. All three years. For calcutta pots of thousands of dollars.

Sounds AWESOME.

I guess if you're really into it for the gambling aspect, that would make it pretty not fun.

One year I played, we were in a flight with one of the notorious 'baggers. We got boat raced. It was sort of annoying, but really just a drop in the pond in terms of the whole experience.

It's 2-3 days of golf, eating and drinking like a king, meeting new people, and getting a little competitive. All with a partner that you presumably enjoy being around.

Ah, Paulina Gretzky. Never change, girl.

At least Paulina Gretzky will know how to celebrate next year, should Dustin Johnson win another US Open.

While watching her fiancé on the green at Shinnecock Hills, the Great One’s daughter “erupted in euphorics” with two female friends, according to NJ.com, after the 33-year-old golfer made a birdie putt on the 72nd hole.

“Did Dustin just win?” one of the women allegedly asked, before Brooks Koepka tapped in a bogey to secure back-to-back US Open titles. “Brooks just won,” soon followed from the group.

Hive Tour Titles: 0
Capitol Cup Singles Record: Undefeated.
Suck it, Ceejay.

How did that Calcutta work, Kent? You're saying you bought two teams other than your own, and one of them won the member-guest? What does "won two lines" mean?

And no, I'm not secretly working for t4t3r to gather more information about your unreported cash winnings.

As Goose said already. Of the four teams on each line they count only the two lowest 18 hole net scores for the Calcutta on the last day. I did not win all the money alone we had 3 of us buy the 3 teams and split it 3 ways. We also sold 30% of the purchase price to the people on the line. 10% to each partner on the line if they want it, we are obligated for 10% to each team. Plus my tickets were called on two other teams which means you get 50% of what that team sells for automatically. One team was $3800 and the other was $1800.

Son and I played Ok but cleaned up with side bets, closest to the holes and Flight bets.

You my friend belong to the wrong clubs. All losers claim the winners are sandbaggers. Since many come from out of state to play in our M-G you have to have at least 5 scores in for this year prior to the M-G or you play to a zero hdcp. Does not stop sandbaggers, but then again never being invited back or allow to be back has stopped a lot of sandbagging.

I just fast forwarded my way through Fleetwood's round yesterday. I'm basically crying that he didn't make at least one of those putts on 16-18.

DJ looked horrific on the greens. He must've caught wind about Sully's recent performance at NW with the Sully spider, and decided to follow suit.

Brooks looked like he had ice in his veins. And also maybe some HGH.

there's a reason there's a waiting list to get into my clubs member guest.

I've only guested at my dad's a few times and it was a ton of fun.

But I have also had some of my worst beat downs in 9 hole matches in that thing.

Your team is one of the teams in a "line" of 4 teams. You like the way it stacks up for the competition, so you bid on it and win the auction. Now you own 100% of the line. Just say it sold for $1000.

However, you are required to sell at least 10% of that to the other three teams in the "line." Each one of them likes it too, so they buy 10% each. They paid you $300 and will get that share of any winnings, while you keep the rest.

Your line wins the whole event, and just for the sake of maths assume the line payout for you was $10k. You pocket $7k and pay out $1k to each of the other teams in your line. I think there is an extra 5% set aside to pay out certain overall winners but disregard that.

My upcoming golf schedule is amazing right now. Just played PB Dye last weekend for the first time, but on Thursday I'll be playing at Whiskey and Worthington (might swing by Little Bennett afterwards). Saturday I'm playing Bulle Rock with my dad and a couple of friends. Then Monday afternoon I got invited out to play River Bend in Leesburg for a freebie round. All of this right before my silly Pinehurst trip that's coming up in July. After PH I'll probably have to go into hibernation mode so I can replenish my bank accounts/save my engagement.

The "CJ 'I can shoot 100 anywhere' Golf Tour" continues.

Oh, also - the 2nd half of July in 2019 - make sure your schedules are clear so you can come visit your boy. #Scotland2019 #CrashMyWedding #MotorBoatingSOB
