Callaway Rogue and Rogue Pro Irons

Offset is the exact same as the Epic Pro which has me interested.

Interesting placement from Callaway. Wonder if it has the ball speeds of the Eric Pro. If it does why would anyone pay more for the Epic Pro?

I got higher ball speeds with the Rogue Pro over the EPIC Pro, with nearly the same spin rates. Translated to about 1/2 club difference with a 7-iron.

Release date?

There were some bad irons around the "X hot" era but the rogues take the price by far. This must be the ugliest Callaway iron ever created...

(sorry if we have given.....)....what are the loft specs??...

I was interested in this as well, especially for the Rogue X. Three to four degrees stronger than the standard Rogue? Whoa, those babies must fly. The distance I could hit a Steelhead XR 7 iron was just mind boggling.

Side note: the Rogue Pro looks better than I anticipated from address. Looking forward to seeing that one in person.

Rogue Pro looks like afterbirth of the Apex line and Rogue an inbred version of the c300 and AP1. No thanks.

To me the Rogue iron line looks just like the Epic iron line but with a simpler "less fancy looking" cavity so that maybe they look 'cheaper' than the Epic irons. I've been a big Cally fan for quite a while (see sig) but man that Epic iron launch was just a big copy-cat money grab.

I feel sometimes Callaway gets trapped into designing game improvement irons around their "look" and they cant go where TM went with the P790s.

However...if you look at a x-tour, x-20 Tour, x-22 Tour...those are closer to the look of the P790s, they just dont have the tech.

Callaway went bigger with the x-24 HOT iron...didnt have a pro version. They could now come out with another series of "X" irons just like the 790s and be just fine.

People went nuts for the x-prototype in 2008...which was lightyears different from anything they had in the product line

I agree completely. Maybe it's better marketing and helps them sell but man Callaway can't stick with anything. Apex, X Forged, XR, Steelhead, Epic, Rogue and on and on. I used to despise Taylor Made for this but they've actually beaten Callaway significantly with their latest round of iron releases...

The P790, P750, P770, etc. are all very appealing looking clubs appealing to a variety of players. Seems Ping is doing the same this year. While Callaway is just dumping so many models of clubs on the market its mind numbing as a fan of theres. Good news is these aren't for me and I'll wait for the next iteration of Apex.

Speaking of the P790... really like these clubs outside of the blade length but they just don't beat out the Apex for me so Callaway continues. If I were forced into picking something up brand new though It'd be either a blended set of P790s with the players version in 8-W or possibly 718 AP2s which I'm a big fan of.

Epic Star had 2 wedges between like this also. Think of Rogue X as Epic Star without the $300/club price

Yeah. Rather than just "stronger," it looks more like they're building bigger gaps between clubs, which is fine for slower swingers.

Alan Hocknell said in his video on the Rogue X irons that Callaway purposefully made the lofts stronger and aren't making any apologies for it.

I still don't understand why people get all wound up with jacked lofts. It's just a number on the bottom of the club. I know some of these iron's a full club longer than mine, but I don't really care. So some guy tells me he hit his Rogue X or M3 7-iron when I hit a 6. Woop dee doo.
