i am wondering though, when will the complaining about the baked out brown course start? or will this course get a pass because it is not the US open?

 

I'll start...this course looks terrible. I would not pay to play on it.

Doesn't need it. Not with the roll out. Actually with the roll out, hitting the driving iron would bring more trouble into play on many of these holes. If they get some moisture and the fairways slow down a hair, I think we will see more driving irons. Right now, theres really no reason.

 

It's a conservative game plan but he isn't leaving himself long irons in on the greens in most cases.

i don't know about that, he's had over 200 yards in multiple times including 230 on one of the par 4's

If it's not needed its not needed I guess. Whatever hole on the front that was playing 485 though Tiger left himself live 225 into the green. Other than that I suppose he's had mid or short irons in.

Forgive me for being late to the party, but why is this courses Fairways so browned out? They showed an aerial photo and it looked like a construction site.

Because it's not rained in 3 months and it's been mad hot for yonks....not watched the news on the wild fires??? Its one beautiful construction site thou

Thanks for the info. Hadn't seen the news about wildfires in Europe and I watch the ABC evening news almost daily.

 

Agreed awesome looking golf course just hadn't seen brown like that except at US Open courses that Mike Davis ruins :)

The main UK wildfire was just a few miles away....good job it wasn't Birkdale! At least the fires are now out
