In like two months time, this thread went from people basically condemning others for playing golf during a pandemic to now thinking there's no reason we shouldn't all be reaching our hands into the same cup to retrieve our ball.

We're talking about cups at Worthington Manor, Blue Mash, UMD, and Waverly. They were all forcibly closed two months ago. Now that they are open, we can talk about their cups and the tradeoffs.

But yes, it is weird. I'm on day 66 myself and starting to do things I wasn't doing 30 days ago, even though things really aren't that different in that time period.

It never hurts to be cautious and everyone needs to do what they feel comfortable doing but there seems to be very little chance of contracting the virus through direct contact transmission on a golf course.

I think the silver lining of the entire COVID situation is that the fools who insist on pulling flags are forced to confront their flagphobia and when things get back to normal in 2022 we'll be a nation united in leaving flags in the hole.

we're all doing things that we weren't doing 30 days ago. some for the better, some for the worse. goose talked about being in a mental fugue state a couple weeks ago. fabb looked like he was walking around with the occasional brain cloud yesterday. i'm working and writing recaps and posting on this thread again.

just the other day, my mom told me to walk upwind of people when i was golfing. i was tempted to make a top gun joke about the dangers of flying through other people's jet wash, and quickly realized that 1) she'd never get it, 2) it wasn't funny anyway. instead i just told her that i hold my breath, which seemed to do the trick.

I confess, I have been picking up broken tees on par 3s so that I don’t waste one of the sweet yellow and red tees I still have from Woodmore.

 

My supply is dwindling though and without those tees I can’t prove to my public course friends that I have better friends that allow me access to gated courses where the phrase “maintenance budget” isn’t a joke.

However.. talking about putts that should of dropped or not .. is borderline crazy, IMO. How many of us have missed putts that should of went in with regular cup?

at least it’s not a pool noodle coming out of the cup..
