If you really want to hate me, look at the Knox hoodie for $39. It's Zegna Baruffa, some of the finest/highest quality merino wool in the world. I thought PING was crazy for making a $180 hoodie when our rep showed it to me, but we both thought it was the best feeling thing made. For those of you that don't know about merino wool, it has some pretty amazing thermal management properties for it's weight. It can not only retain warmth, but can regulate heat to keep you from overheating and breathes incredibly well along with keeping you dry (wicking moisture away). It's not going to be as warm as a Norse naturally, but merino wool is a kick-a** mid layer, and Zegna Baruffa is the best of the best...of course PING would use it. At $39, this MAY be the buy of the tgw.com sale. The piece is so versatile. Just bought 2, and I have the previous version of this hoodie at home!

Damn. They have sold quick since the last time I saw it. I swear there were more sizes when I looked earlier. Fit is a little bit close/tailored...maybe like the Norse Fleece, if I had to compare it to something you already have. Merino wool DOES allow for a ton of stretch though and still retain its shape.

Just took a quick glance at PING's available inventory (that we can order as retailers), and there's no smalls available at all to even get. You'd have to luck up and find an account with it in stock unfortunately.

Mine is supposed to be here tomorrow so i will update. So far today from ping/tgw I got the elden, the players 5 pocket pants, and the practice tee in and they are all keepers. And I just ordered another pair of zero gravity rain pants (a size smaller) and another zero gravity half zip (i have an older model currently)

Only way to 100% know that you’re getting the fully insulated would be to order the bright blue (snorkel blue). In that color, the only possible option is the fully insulated model. But I’d say, given that, that the navy offered along side the snorkel blue is the fully insulated model as well.

I’m in for a Norse as well. I’m normally a S & had to get a M; if it doesn’t fit I can use it for shoveling or give it to a buddy. For $40 gotta try it, especially if it’ll be discontinued. Of course had to get a few polos & an Elden pullover too ?

So the "Snorkel Blue" color, are we talking more of a North Carolina Tar Heel blue or closer to a Duke blue? Thinking about pulling the trigger on the Norse II jacket.

It’s really neither of those. Duke is more of a royal blue, and UNC is a baby blue. Snorkel is a very bright blue. Hard for me to describe. But looks pretty much exactly as it does in the photos.

It's about half way between the two blues. It's really "PING" blue. Take a look at the PING club color code chart. It's basically the same color as their 1 degree upright club at a standard length.

I wore one of my new Elden's to work yesterday. It's a really comfortable shirt. The material is very soft. Even if I never wear them on the golf course, they will get a lot of wear just as a nice casual winter shirt.

Have you guys noticed in the processing emails from TGW that the Ping items are labeled not eligible for returns or exchanges? Is that a mistake or because they’re clearance? I only got a couple things but that would stink if i can’t do anything with them if they don’t fit.

This is pretty accurate. I didn't think of relating the two for a description, but Snorkel blue is pretty much dead on the color code blue. It's a pretty shade, and I'd wear it in a shirt, but it was too much for me as an outerwear piece. I like more subdued colors for that (navy, black, charcoal/gray, etc).

 

I can say this with experience, you won't find anything in the PING offerings that isn't great. Just like with their clubs, all the apparel is really designed from the ground up to be excellent at what its intended purpose. Again, my favorite apparel company by a long stretch. That's why it REALLY sucks if they are discontinuing US sales. If that happens, hopefully they do still keep Euro/overseas sales going, and I'll just grab things from there.

Very odd. I've got a couple sizes in cart at checkout to determine which fits best and there's no warning whatsoever about that. There's nothing on the item pages either. I think that would be difficult to enforce if they didn't notify customers ahead of time.

I am seeing the same message on my Order Summary, but fortunately, I already know my size will fit since I just bought the same jacket 2 weeks ago.
