I just got back from a wonderful week in France....5 days touring the Loire Valley, 2 days in the most beautiful city in the world, Paris.

As I predicted to my wife NO ONE cares about the Ryder Cup.

But, on the whole, it's a beautiful country and Paris is a beautiful city.

Truly great cities are layered in decades, centuries of wealth, culture, art, decadence, cuisine

Hey! I was born in Marseille! The suburbs around the central train station can be a tad ugly, but there are some absolutely fantatstic places as well, try "les calanques" or "les Goudes" or the only 18 holes golf, "Golf de la La Salette", a torturous, hilly, highly technical goat track. I digress, but MLV is right, France is about Soccer mainly, Rugby, Tennis and Hand ball. The rest is merely anecdotal, golf is very expensive, so no chance it will get more popular.

This event is so far up its arse that I can scarcely even believe it. I bet back in the day, say in 1981, Nicklaus and Trevino et all arrived in Europe on a Tuesday or Wednesday, had a couple of practice rounds and then got down to business. No concert, no WAGs, no junior Ryder Cup, none of this extraneous bilge. I'd love to know whose grand idea all of this is, my guess is Europe's. This thing is much more important to them.

Some kind of thing where guys run on a huge field and act hurt all the time. As far as I can tell, there is no way to tell how much time is left in the game, and the over unders are about 0.7 to 1.2. Interesting sport. It's like tag, but with flopping.

Hahaha! Soccer! I don't think anyone would be crowing about winning a soccer game. Pretty sure that's a kid's game.

I think the thing I watched was some version of that frat paddle game the Euros like to play, but without the paddle. Tons of really serious injuries that heal almost instantly.

Just when I start to get on board a little bit with Bryson he starts throwing these tantrums again. It really gets old watching the same grown “men” act like petulant children. I’m not sure he’ll be able to handle the Ryder Cup pressure. I can’t imagine it takes much to get in his head.
