Website is wrong I just called. They said backordered until 3/11 and it’ll be in my hands 3/20

The news just keeps getting worse...

just cancelled my tour driver. Only getting the fairway for now. Was trading my m3 in towards the tour. Would have been driverless for my trip in feb

Smart move, not sure what to do now. May just get the 460 but I know as soon as the Tour comes out that I’ll want it.

I’m not going to change course. The tour driver is going in the bag. If I need to buy Bobcat’s SLDR C driver on EBay for the HH trip as a stopgap, then so be it.

yea I will reorder after trip. No rush cold here for a while

I will likely order around feb 7. Btw Julius Ceasar, father of the modern day calendar, made the month of Feb shorter to appease the masses for later release smaller headed drivers not shipping until March 1! Can you imagine if February had 31 days? Lol!

Hope so! I’m holding firm on my order:)

Yea if its 3/1 then I'll just hold off. I won't be able to get out much until after that anyway, and gives me a chance to build up the golf account.. :)

I finally got to see the new lineup in person at a local GG.

The profile of the M5 460 9 degree was perfection to me, great looking club head. Performance was close to my m4 but Ball speed was def up a little on mishits.

The club builder show me a "Slight" issue TM is said to be dealing with....the thin strip of carbon that runs along the front of the track is breaking.....both of the demos had this problem. He said the rep said TM is aware and is working on the solution.

Maybe they will have this issue resolved by the time my M5 Tour is made...

I’ve been wondering about that. It seems like a vulnerable spot. I’m not sure why that area was designed to overhang the track.

Worth the wait but I did get the 460 for the meantime

I’m fighting the urge to buy the 460...

That’s why I’m going to take the M5 15* turn it down to 14 and use it as my driver until I have hit and compare the 460 against the tour head.

Got to hit the M5 last night.

First impressions

Looks awesome. The flat black carbon looks great. I’ve always liked the way Taylormade drivers look sitting behind the ball.

Feel/Sound are both very good. I prefer it over my M3.

My only issue is that I was hitting it too high. And when I cranked down the loft I started fading the ball more than I would like on course. The spin seemed fine so it just might be that I would need to get used to seeing a higher flight, I already hit the ball pretty high. I’d have to play a few rounds to see what on course performance is like.

I’ll try the Tour head soon to see if it launches a little lower.

Like the regular M5 enough to switch from your M3?

I don’t think so. But that could change after getting some more time hitting it.

It definitely looks and sounds better. But it needs to perform better.

I tried the M5 today and compared it to my '17 M1. Oddly, my M1 had tighter dispersion and average about 2 mph more ball speed. Launch was very similar, as was spin. I used my Tensei white in both. Has anyone else noticed this situation? I didn't read the whole thread, but it seems like everyone is super excited about the M5. Other than the fact it is a great looking club, I didn't experience any benefit from all of the new tech...

My M2 and M4 were essentially the same as the M5. No increase in ball speed. That’s why I was gonna try the M5 Tour but decided on F9 and haven’t looked back. First time seeing 175+ ball speeds....!

I need to try the F9 Tour. The regular F9 was a total dud for me and could not unthrown the M3.
