He'll win about the same number of majors as Danny Willet going forward. Maybe one more.

I think it's the height of foolishness to predict the trajectory of any player's career. Asking the question "is he done" is perfectly legitimate. Definitely saying he's not done is a little ridiculous in my opinion.

Every player has that one major win in their career that turns out to be their last. No one recognizes it at the time because, at that particular moment, they're the best golfer in the world. Who expected the 1964 Masters to be Arnie's last major? He was only 34 years old, at the top of his game. Who expected the 1983 Open Championship to be Watson's last major win? Certainly no one in 1993 would have predicted that Norman and Couples, with all their otherworldly talent, would finish their careers with only two and one major, respectively. Or that, after the 2008 US Open, Tiger would remain majorless for the next decade (and counting). I could very easily see folks 15 years from now marveling at the fact that Spieth never won another major after 2017. Like they say, golf is hard. Winning a professional golf tournament is ridiculously hard. Winning a major professional golf tournament is exponentially harder still.

Arguing with any certainty that he'll win again is just as silly as arguing that he won't. Professional golf is too unpredictable and mercurial to make ironclad statements like that.

It's sports. We prognosticate. It's ok. It's part of the fun.

Looking out 15-20 years, one of the reasons I think Spieth isn’t done winning majors is that I think there will still be some played on “strategic” courses that don’t give such an advantage to the longest hitters. I expect the powers that be will very intentionally sprinkle in some shorter, classic tracks just to keep things honest.

8,000 yard golf courses don’t bode well for the future of the game. I think we will see at least a handful of US Opens and PGAs awarded to classic tracks that will very clearly set up better for the stronger iron player over the bomber which should favor JS.

Jordan doesnt seem to be enjoying the game lately, always on himself, i reckon when he starts smiling more on the course and not whinging so much he will start finding that touch he had , its like he has taken that trait of mental toughness grinding and hyped it too much, expecting too much on every shot , just my 2 cents

That works very well with your avatar.

No Jordan Spieth is not done, I’ve listed this before but here is a list of majors he could have conceivably won (+actually won);

2014 Masters

2015 Masters

2015 US Open

2015 Open

2015 PGA (debatable)

2016 Masters

2017 Masters (debatable)

2017 Open

2018 Masters

2018 Open

He’s not going to fly off the radar anytime soon. Yes, the yips concern me but this kid is tough and it’s not like he hasn’t had to fight off demons or issues with his game before.

He could have won the Masters last year, except he hit a terrible tee shot on 18. Which speaks to the fact that he hits some terrible tee shots for a major champion.

Let's say that the practice area at Royal Birkdale was out of bounds (which it most certainly will be the next time that Birkdale holds the tournament). If he can't take the drop over in the practice area, and has to play from 2 club lengths, or go back and re-tee, I don't think he wins - and Kuchar doesn't lose momentum.

He may be a good iron player, but his driving is suspect; hence my low expectation of more majors.

What if Jack ate a bad hot dog before the final round in '86 and had to WD?

Oh, that would be a silly thing to even discuss.

According to "Golf, My Way", Jack used to carry a "roll" in his bag for food energy.

i always wondered what kind of roll he was referencing? A roll?

Was it one he grabbed off the lunch table?

Was it a Kaiser, Potato Roll, Pretzel, Sesame or Ciabatta?

Was it sliced?

Was it just "in a napkin" and jammed in his bag?

CADDIE: "Jack, what will it be - the 6 or the 7?"

JACK: "Gimme the roll."

Could it possibly have been an "Everthing Bagel"? I might try throwing a day old one in my bag:)

Bet is was just a plain old buttered sandwich roll like you get at a deli or coffee truck.

Very highly underrated snackable, btw ; )

If he's done, he's had a hell of a career!

So... Maybe you could start a poll.. Does 11 wins and 3 majors get you in the hall of fame? :)

No, Jordan is not done, hahaha. Anyone that has any concept at all of what it takes to win one tour event, let alone the probability of winning 11 tour events, with 3 of them being majors, being a “fluke??” Ask Patrick, Dan(Isaac) or Bruce what they think? Sometimes Guys say the dumbest things? M

Sometimes I wish there were more women on wrx. Then we could truly test your last! :)

Hank Haney has said that Jordan has the yips. An "unidentified" tour player said the same thing.

If that is the case, I think that you can make an argument that Jordan is done. For some reason I don't see him going to the broomstick or the claw.

If you look at most of the players who have won multiple majors, they tend to do it over 4 or 5 years. Seve, basically from 1979 to 1984, with one more in 1988. Tom Watson basically from '77 to '83.

Rory is probably done, since he did it from 2011 to 2014, and nothing since. Arnold Palmer, 1958 - 1964.

Only Jack and Tiger have been able to stay dominant for longer periods of time.

As another poster said, this is a very important year for Jordan Spieth.
