I went KBS tour stiff since my i500s are that. But word of the wise, NEVER get fitted at a golf galaxy hahaha. They fitted me as an orange dot standard length and when I was fitted at the PGA tour superstore earlier, I actually am a black dot -1/2 in length...makes so much sense why I can't shake that fade off hahahah

I'm of the opinion that you need to get fitted a few times, over a few months. The "bay effect" is real. Hitting off turf, hitting off a lie board... all of it can affect reality. I continually got fit into super-upright stuff. 7 years ago, I was playing +1" whites. The reality was that it was covering for a scat of a swing... I thought.

Turns out that with some very minor adjustments, my natural swing works very well, and... I'm playing red. 4º flatter now, and playing stock length iBlades/BPs. Fitting is great, but sometimes you have to fit you to clubs. Also, sometimes, you show up on the day with a bad swing and the fitter just hands you stuff until that bad swing clicks. Does that mean you're fit? No. It just means you're about to engrain that terrible swing.

If anything, monitor over time. Do some slight bends on your current equipment. Does it help or hurt? Then over time, you'll find what you play best most of the time. That's when you're actually fit correctly. The trick I hate is when they hand you a light iron and say "hit that". Hey look, it went 5y longer! Well ya, but a month from now, I'll have zero feel. Then what?

14 Pings. Blueprints are incredibly good. Fetch is the most underrated putter on the market. Don't @ me.

Know what your specs are. Not a big box guru alive that I’d trust to “ fit” me and land me on the shaft , length , swing weight and lie angle that I play. And it took 2 years of buying and trying , cutting , lengthening and lead taping to get here.

I got professionally fitted for irons 11 years ago. PING standard everything (that’s what I played before the fitting). The ball still goes where I want it to when I make a good swing, so I haven’t changed since. It’s a beautiful thing.

Yep...same here...trial and error. Did the same thing with shafts too (brands, weight, flex, launch profile, etc). Ironically...I was always standard L/L/L and preferred shaft was S300. Whenever I had an iron set that didn't work well for me (sold as STD LLL), either the lie angle or length was off.

I hit the 4,7 & PW today. Not the shaft I wanted (DGs300 120) but despite that loved the feel, distance was fair. Was get 125-135 total on wedge, 165 to 178 total on 7, spin around 7,000, depending on the shot shape effected yardage. The 4iron really surprised me when I set up what I feel is normal for the 4 iron had a total distance of about 195 but then I did something on all three clubs I choked down like 2 inches on the shaft and not only was I getting the same launch angle I hit the four iron about 211 and was getting almost 180 out of the 7-iron. The carry distance is right at 10 yards shy of total. I’ve been buying and testing many irons getting to where I feel the most comfortable, and what I realized is after going from Apex cf16, to AP2 to Srixon z785, then mixing in the Z forged Srixon 7- pw with the 5-6 785’s, is what most fear, the small razor blade head! I seem the have better contact and control with the smaller head. Miss hitting the blueprint was not harsh and maybe 10 yard loss distance, but every hit was on or short of green towards center not big misses left or right. My current blade/cavity setup use PX LZ 5.5 stiff hard stepped one time, but tested the DG 105 S300 tour in an iBlade today, which is slightly lighter than the PX’s, I loved their feel, so made my order today, ping don’t give much on their prices but get back some on retired military, $1347 5-pw, although I hit the 4 iron very good I usually don’t carry one because I have a hybrid that I use.

Black dot, -1/2" were my specs getting fit for my i210s as well. Could not imagine how hard you must have had to work to try and draw the ball in those specs.

Hit them today, same experience for me. They felt great, a little draw biased for a black dot (I usually play blue, but should be in a red so it’s likely me). Distance wise they were the same as my iBlades with the same feel and workability. I would love to try a different shaft in them as the S300 was fine in terms of feel, but not ideal in terms of numbers. I would seriously consider these in a combo set with a different shaft and midsize grip and probably in powerspec lofts.

I got my set today. 4-W KBS Tour S+ with the Cushin insert. Oh my God. I’m in love. Played a few holes and didn’t skip a beat from my iBlades. The ball held amazingly well in the wind, no loss in distance and the feel is just superb. Could work the ball a bit easier and really found it easy to hit lower shots when needed.

They’re perfect and I’m thinking of ordering the 2 and 3 to round out the set.

So shot for shot seemed equal in distance to the iblade?

Same on everything in terms of distance (wish we could change shafts as the S300 isn’t bad but it isn’t my favorite), again this was with less than ideal numbers due to the shaft so they could be slightly longer.

The Blueprints barely edge out the iBlades for softness, but with a better shaft there would likely be a bigger difference. The fact that they could improve on the iBlades is impressive, even though I know this isn’t the replacement for them. These will make an amazing Ping “players” combo set.

I found dispersion to be tighter than my iBlades. Might have been more from me being more focused on strike due to the smaller head. I didn't notice a huge dropoff in distance on mishits but to be honest I don't think I mishit one yesterday.

> Did Bubba Watson make the switch to the BP’s? I feel like he’s been glued to the s55 for coming up on a decade!

Bubba has a set but didn’t last long as he went back to his S55 and 1 iBlade. I’m sure they are scrambling to get a set he likes as he is the textbook definition of someone who works the ball. He played the S59s (introduced in 2007 but not sure when Bubba signed with Ping) until 2014 when he finally switched to S55s (introduced in 2013).

Interesting that Ping didn’t hold to their release dates like they usually do. Got my Blueprints and LST on Tuesday, not May 30. Unimpressed with Blueprints (3-P), nothing wrong, but nothing spectacular performance wise. They do look great and feel softer than the Tiger irons, so they have seemingly made a very hard durable steel alloy feel softer than a carbon steel with a tungsten plug.. On the other hand the LST is a definite keeper..gained 5-6 yards over plus and is as straight as my Max.. (same shaft, length, flex in all 3). Haven’t measured but the weight track looks shorter than the track in the plus. My niece will be happy as will pack them up and send them to her tomorrow (no inclination to keep them)..

Just wait until I get mine...you haven't seen anything yet :)

On a related note...these are (confirmed by PING sales rep on phone) a limited number release. Once what they've produced is gone, that's it. She wouldn't give me a number...just a thought for anyone who wants to wait all summer to order.

Dispersion was tight (same as my iBlades), but a little more draw than I like, but I chalk that up to hitting the wrong shaft and lie (I prefer my clubs 2 degrees flat).

Well. My set arrived. And I’m stoked. After a few balls it’s easy to see they fit the bill. Couldn’t be happier with the experience. Let’s just say that ping has taken great care of me , more than above and beyond. Set checks out with swing weight , lie angles etc. and the feel is definitely better than expected. Softer than the titleist irons they replace. I’ll update more after on course this weekend. But could not be happier with the look , sound and size. Very compact blade for sure. So glad I ended up with what I did..p.s. yes I know there’s several too many clubs in that bag. Will be testing gaps etc to decide on what and where. . n88rvj8fnri9.jpeg
