OK back from picking them up at the club

Hit about 25-30 balls at the range with the 7i and PW in my flip flops and no glove

Anyone that can hit s55's can hit these. easy peasy, high launching, fades a snap. Not sure about all the worriers about forgiveness

The swingweight on my 9i is off a little and will fix in the Fall

Pics later (they look like the others on here but with orange dots)

Exactly. I demoed a nice s55 set just before getting to order mine and thought the same. No real difference in forgiveness. These just aren’t very hard to hit.

2 weeks ... and I'm in Canada

Did my moi thing w my fitter which I had planned, trimmed 1/8 off the 8, 2/8 off the 7 and 3/8 off the six .. now 3/8" (instead of 1/2") increments for 6 to 7, 7 to 8 and 8 to 9.

Pulled off the golf prides and put on my white Iomic sticky grips

Right now I need 1.8 extra swingweight points for the 9i, new toe weight best guess

The 6 is d6, 7 is d7, 8 is d8, 9is d7.2, pw is e0. Perfect as my 50* is e1

Man these things are tiny.

Stopped in my local shop to get some work done on a wedge and had a few swings of the BPs - darn they are good looking clubs, but without a shaft I like in them I'd not be able to tell how the match up with the S55s/919Ts. I see folks saying there's no 'real difference' with the S55s. Confirmation bias or true? ;-)

Bit too dear to just take a punt on, so will maybe have another look come the autumn. Enjoy 'em though folks!

I hit them back to back, no real difference.

Now my set only starts at 6i to be fair.

We'll see how the old man body handles s400's. If I get too sore I will toss in the Fuji MCI 100s set that are in my s55's

Honest opinion. The sole width is the only difference. If you don’t mind the less bounce of the BP then I don’t see any difference on toe side miss. Ping did a great job.

I guess I will just have to watch here with envy....at least until I can get to a demo day. Before my current set I had played the Z945. I miss them and think the BP would be an awesome replacement BUT, I found a deal on a demo set of Z-Forged for $450 with a shaft I wanted to test. So, they will be here Monday and I need to quit watching this thread :-). I doubt that will last a day but...........OK, cya here tomorrow :-)

I go 6I down now too - as I'm enjoying the flexibility of the 27*H in the bag - so I am tempted to try 8-PW and then maybe grab a 6 and 7 if they work. Thankfully I really do have a mental block at their price per club, my whole set of 919Ts cost less than 3 BPs. But ya we'll see I'll continue to read this thread and try and resist.

The story with the Park Avenue is my dad had one in 99 and he said if you want to new car I’ll buy you one but you got to get a Park Avenue as well so I had to 99 for 10 years and gave it to my kids with about 200,000 miles gets like 35 miles to the gallon on the highway great car and at the time I just bought a brand new Tacoma and a Highlander and I saw this old lady driving bye and she was the original owner no accidents new tires just put new chrome GM wheels on it all leather loaded Out no one ever sat in the backseat got the heads up display even have the window sticker in the glove box $42,000 at 100,000 miles on it and gave her 3500 for it it’s a great car I didn’t need it but in case someone in the family room needs a car here you go

Nice. Ya looking down at the 4I it reminded me of looking down on people walking around from the 22nd floor of an office tower!

So these are 8620 carbon steel, meaning they’re a harder steel and therefore “cold forged” aka kinda sorta not truly forged in the same way a Mizuno/Srixon/Miura is?

It’s a shame because they’re the best looking irons I’ve seen in years, tempted to switch except for the questions about feel.

I wonder how the feel is compared to a Japanese forged 1020 carbon club (Mizuno/Miura/Srixon/etc)

There have been zero complaints about feel in this thread and dozens of people who’ve contributed. Most of these people have owned every exotic forged blade there is, so that tells you something.

They fell better then almost anything out there. Better the boron mizzies without a doubt. Softer then any forged club I have played. Ping also stated that these clubs manufacturing process is at many more levels of most other forged clubs.

I’ve owned 5 miura sets in the last 4 years. And who knows how many titleist forgings. These feel softer than those. Both are known as “ clicky” but solid forgings. Only thing I’ve hit softer is Vega/Kyoei forgings. Which is a given , considering the amount of unicorn blood involved in their process. They are pillow soft. Even compared to that the BP is not a hard feeling iron at all
