I'm pleased for him. As I said earlier, after the ball rolled in the water Slugger White repeatedly asked him if he was sure that the ball wasn't moving after he had placed it. Slugger was offering him an out, an opportunity to forego the penalty. Rickie took the high road and took the penalty........top man.

The worst final round in my memory is Fred Couples first win at the 1983 Kemper Open.

 

He shot 77 (+5) and won in a five man playoff. Two of those players had finished over two hours earlier and the other two were playing just as badly as Fred.
