I really like seeing older models appear on Tour, find it extremely cool.

 

That said, I will make a brief appearance as the Voice of the Infidel... I'm not really a fan of the 32s. I would much prefer seeing 33s make an appearance, or better yet, the 14s/29s, the 11s, or even the MP-9s. These are all so clean, compared to the cut. IMHO of course.

 

Now back to regularly scheduled admiration....

 

I'm with you on that. I tried the 32s, but soon sold them. That said, they didn't have a good shaft for me. NSPRO 950S, I think. It was a while ago.

 

But after reading this thread, I'm feeling a powerful urge to give them another try....

Just went to ebay and bought some.... God I am a sucker. I already have 3 sets of mp 29’s , two mp 14 sets and two mp 33 sets ( just in case). Please mizuno ... start reissuing these older iron sets. They would sell like deep fried twinkies at a county fair. Super clean and brand spankin new. Maybe he had them ordered up from mizzy. Thank the gold gods I had them shipped to my work address so “ the Boss... she who must be obeyed “ hopefully wont find out. I am so busted! Crap now Ive gotta buy shafts. Gonna be hard to explain this.

According to the USGA the 32's are conforming. They didn't have square grooves.

Lots of those Mizuno irons are ageless... we have begged for 14s, 33, 29... no dice

 

I still have a set of each... currently the 14’s are without shafts and I’m waiting to send them off to the iron factory to get cleaned up...

Has anyone had a set refinished/refurbished before? I would really like to have a "show" set but as everyone knows, finding new/unhit sets is nearly impossible.

I still have a near mint condition (used for four rounds) set, 2 iron to PW sitting in my loft, I bought them brand new two weeks before both of my knees collapsed and now, seeing a little light at the end of the tunnel, hopefully I will get to play them again this summer, after eleven non playing years.

The few times I used them, having moved on from TP11's, I found them to be a very sweet iron, the ball felt like it was stuck to the club face just that tiny bit longer than the TP11's and not quite as sharp a hit, if that makes any sense!

The lofts are also very weak compared to modern day irons

Thought about selling them a few times over the years, but the value of the second hand market does not really represent the true quality and worth of these irons.

 

Keep them.... this is the value according to the PGA value guide.... no respect for the best irons on the planet....

My Holy Grail of irons. Impossible to find a set in decent condition for lefties though.

 

My lefty 32s sit in a cupboard at my parents place for 102 weeks on the far side of the world and are only used when I get back there for 2 weeks every other year. They are mint. :D

you put them in the trunk of the car and don't let her see them till mid summer then you can truthfully say... Oh... these old things?... I've had these for quite some time.... usually works for me... Good luck....

Haha, I was chasing those as well but was too late. So then saw Shanksamillion posted some raw sets he refinished and snatched the MP4/5's in raw, s400's and he adjusted my lie for me too.
