Danny Lee's new Mizuno MP - 32 - 2019

Recommended Posts

I am putting a set of MP 32's in the bag this year. Such a great set of irons. I had the chrome stripped off of my set and I am going to play them raw.

Yeah, we're going to need to see pics of those :)

please please please please please

Hard to believe they launched 15 years ago - 2004.

Even more hard to believe that its grooves are 2010 compliant.

According to USGA testing coordinator, all MP models tested so far are 2010 C of C compliant.

Are you 100% sure on that? I know a lot of them are because I've looked, but I thought I saw a few that were not compliant or ATR. However, I may be getting confused with some of Mizuno's none MP irons, like the MX line.

Looks like a retro Mizuno Iron. Simple and Elegant.

It is a retro Mizuno iron.

10.5 deg Titleist 905R with stock UST Proforce V2 Shaft (Stiff flex)
Titleist 990 (3-PW) with stock Dynamic Gold in S300
Taylormade V-Steel 5W & 3W with Grafalloy Prolaunch Red shafts (Regular Flex)
2011 Adams Tom Watson signature wedges in 52 and 56 degrees with stock steel shafts (Player's Grind)
Rife Island Series Aruba Blade Putter

"Loft for loft, length for length, and shaft for shaft, the ball will go the same distance when hit on the sweet spot regardless how old the iron."

I really like seeing older models appear on Tour, find it extremely cool.

That said, I will make a brief appearance as the Voice of the Infidel... I'm not really a fan of the 32s. I would much prefer seeing 33s make an appearance, or better yet, the 14s/29s, the 11s, or even the MP-9s. These are all so clean, compared to the cut. IMHO of course.

Now back to regularly scheduled admiration.... :pimp:

Infidel! While I like those other MP models, they're all much more standard in profile to my eye. Remove the brand markings and the casual viewer would have a more difficult time picking them out from many other blades over the years, and even today's blades. The 32s are just a bit oddly different, which I find cool.

I'm a bit surprised you have this view since you're such a fan of the Rams. They're oddly cool, too, of course!

Rock on.

No Catchy,

Repeating information told by gentleman in charge of USGA testing facility when sent in my Founders Club 200 series irons last November. The ATR issue may be another kettle of fish, as limited sample size and requests for testing by particular players/manufacturers (*cough- Titleist 680-cough*) can have influence on what gets listed that way. I am aware a lot of older MX and JPX stuff is not listed as conforming.

It *is* an interesting dichotomy, isn't it? LOL I guess the cut is a bit too large for me? <shrug>

We humans can be odd ;)

Yes. I sent an email to Mizuno about my MP29s and they said all MP irons conform. At first they said no but they sent another and said good to go

Good to hear. I knew a lot of the MP irons were OK, but I hadn't taken the time to check them all out.

Really excited to see this thread. Was lucky enough to pick up my first set of left-handed Mizuno mp-32's this winter from another WRX'er. Have hit them in the simulator a couple of times this winter, the snow can't melt fast enough so I can get these beauties out there for a spin.

Also loving the raw look that chch3 posted.
