New TM p790 irons ???

Has anyone seen the P790 Ti yet? I wonder if they will be GI ugly shovels?

The number on the P series is suppose to identify the blade length. P760 76mm, P790 79mm, etc. That said I’d assume they’re gonna be virtually identical just made from different material. Maybe a forged titanium face or something. Maybe with a bit more specifically placed tungsten to offer more GI characteristics.

Yer ti for titanium. Not going for a more game improvement iron its a more exotic to take back some market lossed to the new epics, honma, miura etc

The P790Ti sounds like its PXG territory, same for Epic Forged. I think I'll give it a miss not exactly made of money here.

Great choice! Recently, I've tried the i210s and the i500s and neither of them can hold a candle to the P790s. The P790s are so, so clean and sleek and soft. Only the i210 could match the softness of the impact but aesthetic wise, not so much. Wanted to luv the Pings since I've always been a Ping guy but kept on coming back to TM.

 

Can't wait to see the new P790s, or I may just reshaft my current P790s. Bring it on TM!

I would like to try the i210's. I hit a few balls with the i500 and the 790 side by side and liked the feel of the 790 better but they also had shafts that were a better fit for me so i cant give a good comparison. I like the looks of the black p790 but i'm not sure i would like how they wear.

I would stay away from the Black P790s, this was a HUGE miss from TM to charge so much and the finish does not last. Cobra and even Ben Hogan irons did it the right way with the DBM. Do try the i210s, the pricing is just right but you have to get the power spec to be the same as the P790s in loft for a 1:1 and honestly, the i210 is better than the i500 eventhough it's not "forged" but the impact does feel very smooth and soft, Ping hit the mark here and it looks better than the i200/i500 as well

Totally agree! It’s sad that members would act that way no matter if they like TM or not.

I tried the i210's and they are IMO a good looking club but I thought they were unremarkable. I know they are a great club, widely used on multiple tours, but feel and performance were both just adequate IMO. I played Srixon most of the summer(great feel) but back to my favorite now, the IMO under appreciated P770. I do carry the P790 5 iron as it is the perfect gap to my 19* rescue. I am anxious to see and read about the new P790's for sure but the P770 is special to me.

We knew any cosmetic changes would be minimal. Were you expecting them to look drastically different?
