Light weight carry / stand bags?

Any suggestions for low cost light weight carry / stand bags? It will only be used a few trips a year. I’ve already got a couple of options of bags in the range of 5-5.5 lbs so I want to go lighter. Next walking trip is Oct for several rounds in the Whistling Straits area.

Any Play It Again Sports in your area? I’d look for a good used light weight if it’s only going be used couple times a year. Just an option.

Another vote for Jones Original. There is enough pocket space, room for 14, its super light weight, and has a classically fantastic look.

Just picked up a Linksoul Linksouldier stand bag. Seems like great quality, small and light, has a 4 way top and a sturdy leg mechanism. Its a good looking bag with enough storage and can hold 14 just fine, although I carry 13. It's light enough to carry loaded up and pretty comfortable. I also have a Jones Utility stand bag where the straps are more comfortable but it doesnt have a grab handle and may be a little heavier to carry. I do love that bag though. Also maybe check out the Taylormade Flextech lite. Have seen those on the bay for $130.. smaller bags, but look great for carrying.

I really like my Callaway Hyper-Lite 1+ although I wish I got the double instead of a single strap on the shoulder for when I walk with all 14 clubs

I went with the Ouul Python. It’s water proof as well. Just couldn’t beat the price

I had the exact same thought, got the single strap and enjoy the simplicity of it for a quick walk with a light bag, but wanted the double strap for a longer walk with more clubs. I emailed Callaway customer service asking about purchasing a double strap and they ended up sending me one for free. It's not the same double strap that I've seen in product photos online, but I figured out how to attach it and it works well enough for being free. Very happy with their customer service in this instance.

I second this the players 4 is super lite and you can get a stadry one that actually keeps the clubs dry

I really like my Maxfli Sunday bag. Its got a 4-way divider, is a stand bag, has dual straps and is super light. I think I only paid about $80 for it too.

I used to have a Sun Mountain C130 cart bag that I really liked but it was just too big and I could have never carried it. I would have to keep a push cart in the trunk of my car for when I would walk. Now, I got rid of the cart bag, got rid of the push cart and now can just carry my clubs.

It did force me to downsize what I carry a bit because the Maxfli doesnt have the pocket space than the Sun Mountain did but it made me really realize all the extra junk that I was carrying that I probaby didnt need.

Previously had Sun Mountain 3.5 for the last 3 bags. Jumped to a 4 plus and really happy with it. Seems like it’s just the right size and weight and the strap system is great. Think I saw an earlier post complaining about the material but on mine it seems just as good quality as the 3.5. Highly recommended!

Initial thoughts as I had not put a club in it yet so these comments are not based on function or comfort at this time. Visually, the bag looks great and it very light. Nice big ball pocket but not a small pocket for tees and not an easy accessible pocket for a water bottles. Nice handles at the top for easy grab from trunk or other places.

 

I’m headed to Erin Hills / Whistling Straits in a few weeks so I’ll know more after that trip.

Surprised no one has mentioned the Mizuno K1-L0. I went to this from a sun mountain 3.5 and its great. 2.7lbs, room for 14 clubs and enough pockets for gear. The material is a bit thin so I will see how it holds up.

I have to admit, I was kind of forced into the Mizuno K1-L0 as the strap on my carry bag broke on the 6th hole and couldn't be fixed temporarily. At the turn I went into our clubhouse for a new carry bag and was recommended the K1-L0. Now they are cheap but the bag is great. Also great customer service. I had a couple of stitches coming loose (very minor) and I asked my Pro if Mizuno could repair. He contacted the Mizuno rep and I was sent a brand new bag.
