Pro Shop Credit

So I just won $500 in pro shop credit over the weekend and not sure what to spend it on. I don't need any thing golf related at this point. My first thought was just buy a new Scotty Select and place it on the BST for about $300 but with the new models coming out in the spring (I think) not sure this is a good idea. I guess I could get 10 dozen ProVs and sell those on the BST but not sure. Any thoughts?

Are you required to use the credit right away? If not, I'd hold onto the credit until there is something that I did want.

If it's on the book for the HP, they likely don't want too much credit floating around unless it's members that are holding it. General rule of thumb for if it's credit to a PS you aren't a member of, take the things you can use or easily sell. A big chunk of guys from one invitational we ran each year would go with balls/gloves or shoes.

My shop will order anything I want as long as they can get it from their normal vendors. It’s nice not being limited to what’s on display.

I agree, hold on to it if you can until the first of next year. I’m sure something will be released that you will want/need!

I just "bought" a fully custom MacKenzie with credit I've been accumulating. The rest is used throughout the year (i.e. Christmas, clothing for gf, belts, etc.).

I usually do Pro V1s. The last one I won in September, I ended up buying a Super Speed kit as I'm sitting on a healthy stash of Pro V1s at this point.

Sell it to another member for a discount. You can go in the pro shop with him have him pick out $500.00 of merchandise and pay you the agreed upon discount.

I haven't had $500 but I usually get hats and gloves. Edit: I do get free balls and have a stockpile of the original kirkland balls or I might buy those..

If there’s really absolutely nothing you need, get something you want, a treat.

 

Alternatively stockpile, get a new pair of summer shoes, a pair of winter boots, five gloves, a new towel, some balls, some alignment sticks, a putting mat, a rangefinder, a gps...

I like to buy the things that you need but are very specific...

 

A new umbrella, rain gear, cold weather mitts/gloves. Rain gloves.

 

I personally can always use balls or gloves....

I played so-so on a brutally hot August day in the local Amateur circuit. I headed for home, and found out the next day I somehow had placed 6th and won a $35 certificate. The course, of course, is about 40 miles from my house and not in my normal traffic pattern.

 

I may try to use if towards a greens fee if I drive by on a trip west to Columbia, MO.
