MEMBER REVIEWS: L.A.B. Golf Putters! Read What Members Are Saying Now!

In the revealer, the Edel model as well as Axis one will stay square on the backstroke as long as the acceleration is not too high. On the way down they will actually close the moment that forward acceleration is applied. Both putters are better alternatives to most other putters and have significantly REDUCED torque but both have some short falls compared to lie angle balancing. If L.A.B. didn't exist I would likely use axis 1. Edel are super beautiful putters but all the heel weight makes them feel very inconsistent to me.

This Kronos putter is a balance neutral option. It may balance in the revealer if placed in a square position. I believe it If you set up with the face open, it will stay open. Closed, it will stay closed. Versus our putters which are actually "seeking" square. This Kronos putter is certainly a low torque option.

Labgolf, you said you liked what the reviewers were saying about making more putts, etc. I really like how open and straightforward you are about the competition, and what you would use if DF didn't exist. Not bashing the competition, but simply stating facts is an admirable quality and a sign of good character. A pleasure to do business with people like you !

I played this morning with a friend who hasn't seen the 2.1 yet and he asked to use it on each hole. He struggles with putting and currently uses a TM spider. I was surprised with how quickly he adjusted to it. He started making me offers for it on 8. He kept mentioning how easy it is to align. Missed putts were on line but short. They winterized our greens recently, so we all had to focus a bit more on getting the ball to the hole.

As for me, the results the last 4-5 rounds have been pretty consistent with what I've reported all along. Lag and short putts are where I've seen the most improvement. Overall total putts are about the same but the job seems a little easier.

Total putts not a great indicator of your putting performance IMO. You should try using a SG18 app to tell you how you're actually doing. It could be you're actually putting much better based on the distance of each putt. It's like... Round A you had 34 putts and your average first putt was from 12 feet, then the average 2nd putt was from 1ft. Round B you also had 34 putts, but your average first putt was from 28 ft, and then your 2nd putt was from 3 feet. On the surface it'd seem like you putted the same, but I'd argue you putted better during round B... in fact quite a lot better.

Also, the new website is quite slick. Here's to hoping some nice holiday specials pop up...

The length of the putt is not as much an issue for me as the degree of difficulty and I'm not sure there's anything out there to measure that. I putt as well from 25' as I do from 15' most days.

So I'll put it a different way. What I've seen in all of my practice and playing so far is I'm a little better with long and short putts. Mid range...about the same or slightly worse. I'm just not fully committed to taking out the extra break yet. I think it all evens out to about the same amount of total putts.

But what is important to me is I'm hitting my lines and rolling the ball well. I think the mid range ones will come when I trust it.

That #36 seems to be quite popular. I found a used 2.1 with a #7 that I am having L.A.B. convert to a #27 (while they do a re-shaft / re-weight / re-grip on it).

Sorry, I should have been clearer.

I did mentioned though that distance control was very good - that includes the mishits so forgiveness isn't really the issue.

"Feel" is more the issue. I can feel when I've missed the sweet spot and even though it rolls pretty much with little-to-no energy loss and ends up the correct distance, I can feel the miss and it is bothersome.

I putt well enough so that I'm not missing the SS by a large margin but it seems to me (without any sort of impact tape or powder or similar) that similar misses produce a considerably worse feel to the miss (than say a Spider or Spider-X) even while the results aren't that bad.

I do hold the putter very lightly and i don't use a forward press so I'm relatively sure I'm not hitting down on the putt. That said, trying to go SBST, if anything I have a slight arc to a very square face. I've never had a closed face going back and then opening it up to become square.

Thank you Scott for the reminder yesterday of just how good the DF putter is. For those reading this... I gamed the DF putter for 1 year in 2018 based on a bet from my group that I could not stick with 1 putter for an entire year. Typically I buy, try and sell putters all year round. When I tried the DF - I knew I could take that bet and stick with it. I had success early because I felt the immediate "easy" feeling and flow with the putter. Unfortunately, I am a habitual tinkerer and started tinkering with my DF. Changing the grip. Changing the lengths. Adding tape, etc. My experience with the DF and why I bought a new putter this past January was simply my dumb fault and the need to try something new. I also believe I was never properly fit for the DF putter - because I mostly fit myself. Big mistake! I was convinced I did better with a longer putter in 2018 and had the DF made to 37". I even tried a 43" arm lock version (that had potential but I didn't give it a long enough chance). Never once giving a standard 35" putter length a shot. Dumb. This past January I was rolling a Toulon putter at 35" in PGA Superstore and made the switch. Turns out 35" actually does feel better - idiot. I haven't played with Scott since he got his DF putter, so yesterday I asked to circle back and see if I missed it. The very first putt with it felt like home. My head was saying... this feels different! The weight was better. The feel off the head was better. It had a better sound than I remembered and the ball came off with a little more pop than the older version I had. I used to have to put a little extra swing behind the ball... not with this new one. I switched between my Toulon and the DF for the first 5 holes and it became very clear - the DF was waaay easier. I was making putts again. By hole 12 I left my putter in the bag and stood waiting for Scott to pass me the DF back. I had 2 clutch birdie putts on the back and 4 par putts that dropped with ease. Could not believe I was so dumb as to not try this at the standard length. The weighting was 100% different at 35". Moral of the story - don't try to fit yourself. Go get a fitting and if you can't - ask Sam and the team lots of questions to get this puppy dialed in. I'm anxious to test the Blade version now... very anxious. I know this... the Toulon will be going up for sale and I will be calling Sam to order the new DF or Blade at the proper length. Thanks again Scott for the reminder.

So I have been relegated to putting inside on my putting mat for the winter. Honestly I used to think this putt had a slight left to right break but after the last couple weeks of putting with the DF I realize how much I hooked my putts. I always new I had a little hook to them but didn’t realize how much. I am a big fan of this putter and the technology.

Thank you Tom for sticking with that original DF. I was the only one willing to bet on you. Haha! I was mocked for months for taking that one on and it was nice collecting. Yup, you looked smooth with it. A couple of those pars were one or two rolls away from dropping for a few more birds.

I shot a 69 on Friday in a tourney and putted well with it again yesterday. Lag putting was really solid both days and I made a lot of putts.

I'm ready for that blade to show up. I'm usually in the center with my putts so forgiveness isn't much of an issue. I'm wondering if I'll feel as confident with short putts.

Just wanted to give a shout out to L.A.B. Golf for the EXCELLENT work they did on a used 2.1 which I sent to them for re-shaft to the correct length for me / re-weighting for the new length (using the latest tungsten weights) / and new Press 2.M grip. Also had them change the alignment aid to #27 (from #7) while they had the shaft out, and that came out beautifully as well. A real pleasure doing business with these folks.

On my PuttOUT trainer, I had only ever made a "Perfect Putt" from a couple feet with my other putters. First time in hand with my corrected DF 2.1 I had made 7 in a row from 6 feet, and the 8th one was PERFECT (stayed in the hole in the middle). That tells me this is really going to work well for me.

I liked the feel of my DF 2.1 but after using it a few rounds, it's really coming to life. As it was previously mentioned in here and in my opinion, it's not really the amount of putts that tell me how good I putt. I don't even track the number of putts per round. For me, what's different about this putter vs others I've used in the past is A. the distance left of the 2nd putt from long first putts and B. the chance of holing a mid-range putt.

In the past, it was nothing to have a 30-40' putt and be outside 6' on 2nd putt. I don't know if it's the alignment that fits my eye better, the truer roll the DF 2.1 puts on the ball, the easier it is to hit the center of the club face or (my best guess is) all of the above, but I don't feel like I'll ever 3 putt again. Pragmatically, I know I will but even LONG putts are within a cup or two of the line thus leaving tap ins for 2nd putt.

Similarly, when I stand over a 10-25' putt, I have the confidence to get the ball to the hole because I don't fear a 4' comebacker thus mid-range putts have an exponentially higher chance of dropping.

I shot a 41/37 78 on Sunday in breezy conditions and really didn't hit my irons all that well. I made 2 putts from off the green so that saved 2 strokes. 9/10 times I wouldn't have made one of those in the past. Honestly, I felt like I hit the ball well enough to shoot 80-82.

I guess what I'm getting at is that it was a stress free day on the greens. Some putts dropped, others didn't but the ones that didn't had a good chance to.

The DF 2.1 definitely made my round Sunday more fun and if my handicap doesn't improve, it's definitely not going to be due to lack of putting.
