I had the OG 1.5 removed from the B.2 and replaced it with a green star golf pride pro only grip. It's about 90g and I didn't feel much difference in the swing weight. Our shop had the revealer there, so my pro put it in after the grip swap and the balance did not change.

Did you happen to check the swing weight before and after the grip change?

I was able to get to the practice green with my 2.1 after getting it back from L.A.B. with the new shaft, new Press 2.M grip and re-weighted for my length. Because it is so forgiving on toe or heel hits, I'm able to look at the flagstick when I make my stroke, which REALLY helps me with my distance control. Tap-In left at even 30 and 40 feet, so I couldn't be happier.

Thanks for the response. I really like the roll of the 2.1, but I'm one of those guys that can't get over the looks. Its just too over the top.

On the other hand, the Blad & the B.2 are just boring to looking down on at address IMO. They needs a flange or something to break up the brick on a stick look.

I had one of the original directed force putters. Before they became lab golf. I loved it, but it was second hand and not fit to me so I sold it. They are solid putters and the idea behind them is sound. I really don’t care to much about looks. I just don’t want to spend 500 on a putter.

I ask the equivalency question - How much did you spend on your driver, and how many shots per round do you use it? How many shots per round do you use your putter (which I would suggest has a greater impact on your score), and how much should you spend on it?

You don't have to explain it to me. I know it is crazy. I will say though, that my putting has always been average at best. It really seems the number of putts never changes. My round scores are very heavily dependent on how well I hit it off the tee.

I'm liking what I'm seeing with the B.2 so far. Not much out there will set up as easily as the 2.1, but whether you dig it or not, the shape of the B.2 makes it extremely easy to align. I'm not seeing much of a drop off in forgiveness. You know if missed the center by the sound and feel, with a little loss in distance but the roll is still solid. It looks smaller than anything I've used. That may be because of the center shaft. But I like it. My focus is better. You can be lazy with the 2.1 and get away with it. Lag and short putting has been exceptional. I've been a little more consistent with mid range putts with the B.2 so far.

Both feel similar during the swing, like you're on auto pilot. My stroke seems more relaxed and it's easy to square up. I can feel the difference going back and forth with other putters. Less work. The B.2 also holds the line like the 2.1. Less work again but a change that takes some getting used to.

We all have a personal preference in terms of feel and sound but I absolutely love the B.2 in this department. I'm not sure what to compare it to, it's just different.

Is there a difference between the Direct Force mallet and the L.A.B. Direct Force 2.1 besides the name change and writing on the putter?

Depends. The Directed Force Reno Mallet is the same Chassis as the L.A.B. DF 2.1t but the internal stuff is very different. The 2.1t is superior from a feel standpoint. The older Reno still is lie angle balanced and if you can find one used is a great place to start if you are unsure of the L.A.B. Technology. If you are going to take the plunge and believe in the tech, the sound and feel of the DF 2.1 is much improved and worth it.

We are the opposite then in that regard, I drive it below average and look to make it up on the green. My 2.1 is going to help with that, based on my time on the practice green so far.

Any feedback on whether the DF 2.1 works well with the left-hand low putting style?

As long as with that style you are not putting any undue pressure on the club, and it is allowed to swing through naturally, it will work just fine.

I think I figured out the different sound/feel thing in the B.2. There’s very, very little vibration when you center it. More of a dull thud than a click but the feel is what was hard to put my finger on.

I have been putting left hand low for the past 4 years, I did not have any problem with my 2.1. I still love this putter and I cant see it being knocked out of the bag anytime soon. I have a ton of confidence right now in my putting.

Another model option maybe.... but I like that simple brick on a stick look - I also like the Edel brick having seen and hit it in person, and use a Seemore Giant, which is a big brick on a stick ;-)

Took me a long , long time to realise that the strong perpendicular lines to the target is what fits my eye best (a Ping type plumber's neck is absolute aim disaster for me).

It warmed up today and it was nice to feel my hands again while playing. I had a really solid putting day with the B.2. No 3 putts on some pretty bumpy, slow greens. I tend to putt better on fast greens, so that was nice to see. I honestly do not see a drop off on the course in forgiveness from the 2.1. If anything, I feel more comfortable with it. Having a grip I like a lot more may have something to do with it. But it's the same great balance, speed control and roll in a smaller, very clean package. For whatever reason, my mid range putting is better with the B.2. I made a bunch of 10-12 footers. This one has serious potential for me.
