Wedge Shaft. I notice that I spin these wedges significantly more than any others I've played recently.

You ain't gonna find me laughing with the reputation and Handicap you have--- I will let you in on a little secret I am a recent hybrid convert and with Adams older than yours. I am now carrying 2 instead of the 3 and 4 irons. One Adams is a old A-12 OS and the other one is an Adams Boxer-----

Once one gets accustomed to cart bags with full length dividers, clubs in 4 / 5 / 6 divider bags look like total chaos. It's so easy to forget that that's how clubs always used to look in a golf bag.

Gotta laugh Obee but in a good way. Please bear with me.

I used to loop on the weekends (around 40 years ago) at Torrey when I was stationed at Camp Pendleton. I used to watch guys such as yourself sucker the tourists and others dressed in scratch outfits and matching everything Titleist into money games. Almost always they were up against a 3rd or 4th press by the turn and at the end of the day couldn't figure out how old fat guys, (in their 40's) gasp, could take them for everything they had in their pockets and then get into their Maverick or Gremlin and ease on out of the parking lot. I mean it was comical.

Played with Obee a bit now. My only concern is those hybrids won’t last forever. Especially when he refuses to miss the sweet spot. Clubs last a lot longer when you hit them on the toe and heel most of the time... I’m constantly on the lookout at Traders / 2nd swing for replacements.

I think if I honed up my left-handed skills just a little bit, him and I could go on the road as a gambling duo. Two fat old guys workin it! Pigeons would line up to lose their money

I never could get accustomed to cart bags with all the dividers. One of the reasons I use my old school Jones with only 3 dividers and my Old School Burton staff I took the center divider out and instead of 6 compartments I have only 3

LOL don't give out all my secrets--- I mean man I am a fat man in my 60s with a floppy hat and a cigar raggety old Jones Classic with blades and like I told Obee now has 2 beat to heck hybrids but still carry and hit the 2 iron you know sometimes Have to hit that low 200 yd fairway finder. Oh yeah I have been around the block long enough If I saw you 2 I would not mess with you unless you gave us 2 up a side.

That Pro Launch blue is absolutely lethal in Adams Hybrids if one can still swing them ( which I can't) but I do have a Pro Launch red in one of my hybrids and a Ozik Matrix red in my other one.

This is either the best or worst WITB on WRX ever.....

.......and I mean that with all due respect (its in the Geneva Convention, look it up).

I mean, he's only got 2 "irons" for Pete's sake. Not a "2 iron," no, no, no, only TWO irons......

 

Seriously though, this is EXACTLY what I'm talking about when I say to build a bag with "shot specific" clubs. Yes, Obee is good enough to hit almost any shot, but he clearly has built this bag so that each club/group of clubs is just right for him to hit the shots that he wants to be able to hit with that club/group of clubs. He doesn't have a 7i for a reason. He doesn't have set wedges for a reason. This is the bag of a stone cold killer, regardless of if he's a +1 or a 19. Either way, someone who has put this level of thought and effort into their setup is going to be a very tough out most days. Gamble with this person at your own peril.

I actually FINALLY retired those wedges after 10+ years in my bag. They had non-conforming grooves, so I couldn't play them in USGA events.

Very well said Dan--- You and I are on the same page on that-- I have always been a proponent of using a set up that works for your game--- Over the years playing Mini Tours and gambling over the years trust me I have seen some set ups . From experience say I did not know Obee's reputation and he showed up with that set up I would be wary where those not in the know would react as to "what a hack" with all the hybrids. Actually I have always carried weird set ups especially on the top side of the bag. For me back in the day I carried a Ping or Tommy Armour 1 iron and gasp!! a little laminate Northwestern 6 wood. Now days it is sorta odd with 2 hybrids and a 2 iron ( as a rule now do not carry the 3 and 4 irons).
