I went to the same fitter that built my gen 1 0311 with Project X LZ 6.5 shafts. I wanted an easy to hit iron for a dad that does not have time to practice.. all... the... time. I hit them very well, but I don’t like the look of the offset and the top looks chunky. That being said, they work exceptionally well for me.

I was excited by The reviews of the new gen 3; the possibility of new irons. If the Gen 3 T performed better than the Gen 1 P, look out world. I tried the new heads against my current PXG gamer with the same shafts. Much too my disappointment, the gen 3 T was not as forgiving at the gen 1 P and the Gen 3 P performed about the same.

if you are in the market for a new irons and want to drop the money, try the Gen 3. (Also, find a premium fitter. My fitter has been a local troubleshooter for PXGs in house fitters.). If you want to save some money, find a used set and have them reshafted.

I've never participated in a PXG thread.

I had no idea it was this crazy.

I've been fitted for what I ordered and I am extremely excited to receive my order.

This should have nothing to do with price or mizunos feeling like walmart (Which they don't) and who can afford what.

I'm hoping they will perform on the course like they did in the fitting but I certainly have no doubt they will.

I actually don't even know how i would buy PXG here, i don't think Golftown carries them and i don't think my club does either

"This should have nothing to do with price or mizunos feeling like walmart (Which they don't) and who can afford what."

... Unfortunately this site, more than any others I have experienced, can thrive on trolling, arguments and confrontation. We all love learning about equipment and golf or we would not be here. Having respect for others opinion seems to be a no brainer. Not agreeing with them of course, but just being respectful. Mizuno owners can easily say "My 919 Forged make PXG feel like the hardware store components they are. LOL, multiple screws with attic insulation inside? Mizuno puts them to shame." Of course that would be silly but some here love to troll, argue and get someone else's "panties in a knot". And I am not calling anyone out because it is and always has been a part of WRX.

... Clearly PXG has a loyal following, outstanding fitting and are of very high quality. But so do many other OEM's.

Call PXGs 1-800 number and they will get you in touch with their local master fitter. He will arrange the fitting with you. I had a 3 hour fit and it was first class all the way; the resume of the fitter was stunning, I don't want to quote it here but he's built club for some top 10 tour pros. There was zero sales pitch and we explored numerous shaft and head options. All this was free of charge. The experience is second to none and I have been to TXG (Ian), Titleist's fitting, Taylor Made and Callaway's fitting center. All of them are really good but PXG is the best.

After using PXGs, I would quit golf if I had to hit Mizuno irons.

Once you play PXGs, your definition of "feel great" completely changes, at least it did for me.

Kudos to Bob and his team for putting in the hard-work and money developing the best irons in the world; and in case you are wondering my previous gamers were Miuras fitted by one of the world's most respected master fitters.

You guys that are scheduling these fittings, isn't there some sort of obligation to buy after the fitting. I'd almost feel like I had to buy something if they drove out and set up specifically for me! I've got a set of gen 1 t's, and am seriously interested in the gen 3, would love a fitting, but can't commit to 2,500 when mine are just fine??? That make sense?

I got my GEN3's out on the course for the first time and they continued to impress. They're very forgiving and have an excellent feel. I hit a few thin and on the toe and saw minimal distance loss. These are the best set of irons I have hit in a long time and I've had way too many sets over the years. Below is my set make up as well as the other sets I have had in the last year to compare them to. PXG's for me are also not as hard of a pill to swallow because I have to hit a steel fiber shaft due to hand surgery and there is no shaft upcharge. The other OEM's charge me $65-$75 per club for Steel Fiber shafts. So at the end of the day a set of PXG's runs me about $800 to $900 more than other OEM's.

Other sets I've played in the past year for comparison and all with Steelfiber shafts.

I hate to take this approach or give you this kind of advise but unless you are a very low handicap golfer, go with the "P". I just ordered a set. Here's the dumb reason why I suggest going with the "P". Let's say you order a set of PXG's and you just don't like them. If you go to sell them, you will do better selling a "P" model just for the simple fact that many more people prefer the the "P" model. Dumb advise but that is what an experienced eBayer like me would do.

I hear you but I also strongly disagree. If you're putting PXG money into a custom set then you get what you want and not what has good resale value. Just my opinion.

This thread has me real excited to try out the 0311T Gen 3 irons. I've always hated the way they looked with the screws, but for some reason the Gen 3 irons are starting to grow on me. I live in Scottsdale so it wouldn't be hard to set up a fitting. And I'd have to politely disagree with wings02 as well. I would buy what fit me and not because I'd recoup some of the costs better with a set of P irons.

I got fitted for my gen 3 irons last week

I currently game gen 2 and my fitter sent me a email no obligation test fitting of gen 3! who would not bite at that..

I got 11 yards (10 metres) distance gain and tighter dispersion with a 3deg steeper landing angle also had to hit a lot of shafts as i was getting 1000-1200rpm to much spin?

Once in the correct shaft oh wow with my gen 2 smash factor was 1.30 to 1.34 in the gen 3 1.39 to 1.41 ball speed was up 6 to 7 mph i did not believe it and swapped back and forth between them multiple times

with the same result i like the new look better as well also the feel is fantastic soft but powerful a really nice feel at impact along with a satisfying thwack makes you want to just keep hitting them

Also could not resist the new gen2 sugar daddy's got a 55 and 60 coming in them aannnd a new pxg putter sank 14 12 foot putts in a row none of which looked like missing the hole

People go on and on and on about the price to me golf is my only vice i don't drink smoke or spend money on women or cars (that would interfere with golfing 3 times a week and practice) got to spend it somewhere right?

So to me its worth the cost it puts a smile on my face everytime i pull em out of the bag

Now to wait 5 weeks for them to be built and shipped.....
