... If you are going to buy and play clubs that cost waaaaaaay more than all others, have screws all over the back looking like they were designed at Home Depot, on a forum where folks say new clubs suck because of a color/script/shape on a sole or cavity and was long as the comments are not about performance ... why on earth would you care what a stranger says about your clubs? Especially if you have been fit and find they are the best performing clubs for your game and you love them? I remember playing Tiger Shark irons early in my golfing career that were about as far out of the box looking irons as I could buy. I went thru a fitting and they were exactly what I needed at that point in my equipment journey. I kinda liked that they were very unusual and fully expected to hear negative and or silly comments about them.

Its like a mizuno hit it anywhere near middle and its soft

You will notice if you badly thin it or hit it out of the grooves on the toe but other than that yeah very nice

I can compare it to Mizuno blades that you flush very nice feel but you also get a sense of power? That the only way i can describe it.

That you don't get with the Mizuno irons the face feels hot without any jumpers or flyers and you also get a really smooth feel

Best irons i have hit and for the price they damn well better be!

Thanks for the replies. I guess that was what I was afraid of. I have found over the years that when I play irons that conceal mishits I tend to lose my strike capabilities the longer I play them. I was hoping these might be more communicative than it sounds like they are. That's just my own priority though of course. Thanks for the feedback.

I have the T’s, I can tell when I find the center and when I don’t, however balls struck non-center feel better than other clubs struck in that area, but you still know when you pure it. The biggest thing that sold me was the forgiveness in terms of what a miss equates to. Poor strikes are closer to the green or on it. I would recommend going to a fitting or demo and trying to hit some off the toe and see how they feel vs in the center of the face. Also catch a few thin to see how they do. Also pay attention to the flight and distances of those poor strikes, it’s impressive.

Someone mentioned that he would be nervous having them in the bag, as thieves would really be all over these. That is my concern as well, as in no PXG bag for me. I have spent a fortune trying to find "that" set of irons, so the price is a credit card away. A fitting would be a must for this price range though. I have seen guys in trucks to carry that fishing boat out to the lake, and they have way north of a 100k in that, so what is the cost in perspective., they fish and I golf. Now the Parsons angle and his marketing tactics, hmmm! That's for each to decide. I will probably play what I have for now, but if the itch grows enough!

I went from Ping G400 Irons to PXG Gen2 0311XF and I know when I mishit a ball for sure, as the general consensus is Gen2 is not as soft feeling as Gen 1 or 3. I thought I'd stay with my G400's forever but it took two fittings to convince me PXG was the iron for me. The feeling was phenomenal, and i have yet to hit any other iron or woods where on any hit, the ball just wants to find the fairway or green. It's nuts. Whenever I travel, I'll take my G400's and while I love the way they feel, the PXG's just feel better for me, I don't know how to describe it. They have the same shaft in them, but man, the ball just wants to fly off the PXG irons. Now, when I get lazy and pick up my head or my arms out race my hips and legs then the ball hooks of both the PXG and G400, no question, but hitting a ball 165 out of the rough and seeing the ball land on the green with the PXG is just an awesome feeling. I respect everyone's opinion here. We're allowed to think PXG over an overpriced Ping or we're allowed to think PXG's are the best clubs on the planet. Either way, these are the best clubs for me.

"I'm still gaming the Gen 1 since they first released.. I hit the Gen 2 and honestly couldn't feel and numbers weren't that much different (at least not enough to replace the Gen 1). Are the Gen 3 that much diff or is it just something new?"

I am curious to this question as well. i am still loving my Gen1 T's, but  sooo drawn to the Gen3.

Anyone that can comment on a comparison?

I had the GEN1 T's and now have a combo of GEN3 T and P. The biggest difference for me was the forgiveness on off center hits. The original T's and the GEN 2's were not nearly as forgiving. I saw about a 10 yard drop in distance on toe strikes on the GEN 1's and 2's. When hitting the GEN3's I only lose about a couple yards of distance on a toe strike. Still the same great look and feel of the of the originals but more forgiving. They also changed the grind on the sole a little and they dig less. All good things in my book!

so I've had a few good sim sessions so far.

They feel amazing. They are similar distance to t100. Maybe a fraction longer. The Irons are incredibly forgiving for smaller irons. Bad shots are bad shots for sure but heely shots are much less punished than toe shots.

I need to get them on the course. Sounds crazy but they aren't 3k better than t100. The Wedges are amazing so far.

2024 Bag TBD

I tried the xp and p currently in the xf gen2

What i noticed was a stronger ball flight with a better landing angle with the xp i tried the p and it really was not much between them for my swing your milage may differ

So why make the game any harder than it has to be? 1 set of xp ordered :)

Difference over gen2 xf was again for me only 11 yards longer, steeper decent angle, better feel, more powerful ball flight so yeah just better i does not hurt they look damn sexy to me as well love that muscle back look and the cnc groves on the back ok does nothing for performance but i will love taking it out of the bag again and again

I did get sugar daddy wedges for the lob and sand they have a fantastic feel and great zip

I received my Gen 3 0311Ps (6 days from fitting to receipt). They feel as good as they did in my fitting and the distances have held up (about 10 yards longer for me). I suspect that half of this is optimizing the shaft and half is the new head. I say this confidently since I have a gen 1 7 iron (used for practicing in the winter on mats) that I put the same shaft that I got with the Gen 3 (Steelfiber i95) and the Gen 3 is consistently longer that the Gen 1 (same lofts).

I had Gen 2 0311P and never really clicked with them. Center shots felt great but were the same distance as the Gen 1 7 iron (above). However, the Gen 2 didn't feel as soft as the Gen 1 but felt better than the TM P790s to me. The Gen 3 clubs seem to have the Gen 1 feel but a bit more distance and forgiveness.

One thing that I will note is that I had a great fitter (PXG rep) for this purchase, which I think is one major contributor to why the clubs feel and perform better for me.

To answer the question as to whether these perform better than Gen 1 or Gen 2 - I think that they do but that alone will clearly not drop your handicap a large amount.

Do I wish they were less expensive? Of course.

Are they worth what they cost? For me, they are but I can also see why some people question the cost vs performance. My friend who is a +3 loves hitting my clubs (he loves the feel) but will probably never buy them because they aren't going to change his game.
