What's the point of the huge crown protector on the Panerai watch? It looks like it would be digging into your wrist. Or is it hinged to flex out of the way?

These days I just wear my Apple Watch every day. I have a dressy leather band if I’m going somewhere nice, and a silicon band for every day wear. I own a bunch of watches I used to wear, but the Apple Watch is just convenient

I used to do the same, but it made trying to decompress from work nearly impossible, because I get emails 24/7 at work. I got lucky in that my Apple Watch died during a really busy time for me, which made it impossible for me to find the time to buy another. After a week of not wearing it, I felt much more relaxed and I’ll never go back.

I'm a total headcase, for sure. Turning the notifications off didn't work for me, as every time I looked down at the watch and didn't see any notifications, I immediately looked at my phone to see what I was missing. Essentially, the existence of the watch on my wrist was just as bad as the notifications themselves.

I love watches, I mostly wear a Ball Engineer or a Oris Aquis, but never while playing golf. Years ago my wife bought me a Citizen Eco drive titanium golf edition watch, it's very light weight and the crown guard points upwards instead of towards the wrist. It's great for golf, but I hate having something on my wrist while playing.

I've had bad luck wearing automatic/mechanical watches while playing golf...2 times I've had watch springs get screwed up hitting balls. I tend to wear for golf a cheap quartz watch or a smaller G-Shock...don't have to worry about ruining an expensive watch in a summer rain downpour, nor have to have an extra 150 grams of weight dragging on wrist with something like a Rolex Sub.

For me a watch shouldnt be light unless its a fitness type watch. I have an Ebel i need to get the band fixed on from 30 yrs ago. It weighs a ton, thats one of the things i liked about it.

I could never do watches on the golf course because of my wrists are super small. Off the golf course I wear a Bulova Lunar Pilot or a Vostok Amphibia.

Used to wear a watch but my Certina chronograph is too heavy. Alternate is a £60 G-shock. Waiting for prices to drop so I can pick up a titanium Luminor.

Agreed! I got mine November, 2011. Such a classic design. You can keep the Pepsi and Batman/Batgirl. Although I do like the TT Rootbeer. Have to love Rose Gold but at the end of the day I like my 116710LN.
