Had Josey do a neck swap on a Byron of mine and can’t possibly put into words how great of a job he did. Ignore the finish on the finished putter...trying to decide where to send it off to get it finished.

Finally got to get out to roll some putts with my new Slide. I’ve putted very well with my Optic the past few months but this putter feels so stable and just rolls it beautifully. It definitely suits my eye well, the weight is perfect and the feel with the MMT Concept shaft is so smooth. Couldn’t be happier.

My putter is currently in the works and the process has been amazing.  Josey has been working with me through all the changes every step of the way and has been a great help when we get to a part that I was indecisive about.  The putter will be a sentimental piece commemorating my growing family and I am beyond excited for both deliveries!

Got back a couple of days ago and fighting severe jet lag. 

 

Managed to install my usual NS Pro XXIP shaft and Rosemark grip playing to 33.75.

 

On the home mat... Feel is friggin unreal.  Solid and dense.  Very reassuring. And roll seems very good too. 

 

Will take her out next week and see how she goes.

Putter showed up at my doorstep after I got home today and was beyond excited to get out and roll it. This thing is amazing and pictures just don’t do it justice. Can’t wait to get this out on the course.

This is the first time I’ve used this shaft. I’ve had about 5 putting green sessions with it so far. It’s been getting cold in my area so I haven’t played with it yet. The MMT….it’s not overly stiff but it is very stable. Hard to describe a putter shaft but I feel the ball comes off the putter as I would expect it to. For example, the stability shafts I feel you have to hit the putt firmer to get it to roll. With this shaft it just feels smooth and consistent. Not jumpy like a softer shaft and not dead like some very stiff ones. Great feedback as well, I can tell exactly where the putt was struck. The MackMade…both my putters from Josey I would describe as Flush. The feel off the head of both is just so pure and the feedback is perfect. Neither head is what I would call hot feeling, it’s just pure and the roll is very good. The feel is a perfect combo of soft to solid. So far I have loved the combo and I don’t see me changing it. I’m pretty particular about feel and weight and the response of the putter and this combo is really checking all of it for me.

So I had my first round today.... amazing roll and feedback.  Josey really hit this out of the park for my stroke.

Mine is finally here!  Customized everything from the head shaping details to engraving the logos I designed myself… couldn’t be happier with my “Cam Smith style” Mack.

 

quality is honestly off the charts, fit and finish is better than my Scotty 009-M.

a bunch of little tweaks to make it a little more 009-ish but still give it the Mack flare, sloped shoulders, different cavity shape, etc.  I think Josey now uses this updated shape for most of his newport style builds.

Well this is what Josey created for me. Told him what I wanted and he made it happen. Like others have said, customer service is top notch. If you want a truly custom putter he is the man. He sent me pictures every step of the way, which is awesome to be able to follow the process of how your custom putter is being made. I haven’t received it yet but I can’t wait to see in person.

Now he'll open it up to the folks who will say all 303 is the same,  I do not subscribe to that belief.  China 303 is not of the same quality as others.

I have no clue about chinesium.  I have only ever used 303 made here in America.  Befor I did putters full time out hotrod shop machined out own parts, mostly aluminum and learned that the Chinese stuff is indeed cheaper but the “same” material from order to order would machine and finish wildly different.  Swapped to paying more for American made stuff with cert papers and never had an issue again.

Haha! Here’s what that turned into. Putter is milled out of a solid block of unobtainium given to Josey by NASA. Can’t give any more details. 
 

Nothing else to add other than to echo what others have said. Great communication and easy to work with. I’ll probably be doing another one of these in the not too distant future. Great experience start to finish.

I'm about to start the process on my first putter with Josey and as it turns out, I only live an hour and fifteen minutes from him. Really cool to have such a gifted putter craftsman in my backyard. It's been repeated over and over, but his communication his shockingly good. I could never be that responsive if I had the work load that these highly sought after putter makers have. Very impressive. Anyway, Josey invited me to come up and check out the shop anytime. He has a true open door policy, which is quite unique. I'm going to get up there within the next week. I'm an amateur club building hobbyist, so I'm really excited to see his setup and how the sausage is made. Always been fascinated by the skill of these guys. I'll update with my build in here as well. I'm going in to this with a certain shape in mind, but seeing some of your finished products has me all kinds of torn. I have a sneaking suspicion that this will be an annual endeavor for me.
