Evnroll ER2 on Tour

The biggest issue with Evnroll is because of the grooves the tour players say it comes off the putter a little slower. I’m a huge believer in their groove technology. But on tour $$$ talk.

Is that right? You have all the TM boys using Spider putters that have grooves. Odyssey and pings have different face styles as well. Some Scottys do too. I never heard of that. Very interesting.

Guerin makes a good looking putter. Can’t deny that. He’s been in the game for a LONG time and designing for a while.

It could be a feel thing too. I've always found that Guerin's putters feel much softer than cameron and others. But i have heard first hand that pro's like the putter but it comes of slower than what they use.

I just got fit for a putter at Club Champion (free right now if you purchase a putter, and I needed one). Long overdue, as my setup and stoke is flat and delofted. I ended up ordering an ER2 murdered out. To my old eyes, the black seemed to reduce the eye wandering away from the white line. Of the putters I tested, the Ping Kushin 4 was the most similar. I went back and forth quite a bit, and in the end, it just seemed a bit easier/more natural to line up the putt with the ER2. It's a bit smaller heel to toe and a bit more satin finish, and this appealed visually. I did really like the Ping, and if it had not been matched with the ER2, I'd have been happy going with it. As to feel, yes, the ER2 has a bit less pop off the face than the Ping, though both are on the soft side, but putters having different feels is true for all kinds of reasons other than the groove pattern. Whether the grooves truly help get mishits closer to the hole, will have to wait for some on course experience. Another site did a test and the groove tech proves out the lab at least. The ER2 did cost about $100 more than the Ping, but amortized over time, price was not important.

As people have alluded to it is all about the money. I believe Evnroll does not pay players to play their putters. Where other brands TM, Ping, Odyssey, Scotty will pay players to play their clubs.

Along with Lexi, I believe Ian Poulter had an Evnroll in the bag for a period of time.

Most Pros dont have a putter deal because its too important of a club and they want to use what works.  Unless its a full bag deal like ping does most of the time.  They dont play envroll putters because they are too slow.

Other then say Tiger, and people that don’t have full club deals, I can’t think of any (at least top players) that are not playing putters that isn’t from the brand of the rest of their clubs. Rors, DJ, Rahm, JT, Spieth. All play putters from the company their clubs are from. As does Phil, Bubba and Kiz.

I understand what you are saying too slow, but got to be honest if you can adapt to it, great putters. I just put Evnroll back in the bag and loving it.

wow ... bought an Evenroll ER8v Midlock.   Played two rounds with it & I'm very pleased.

Set up is easy.  In my hands, the "midlock" works.  Thought I might have trouble adjusting to the offset (it's 2 shafts, I believe - more than anything I've ever played), but I'm thrilled to say "Nope, not a problem at all."   I've started putts on line more often, distance control has been good.  Really happy with it.

I just picked up an ER11v Midlock a couple days ago. Had my first round with it and I experienced the same. The ball starts rolling much better and no more wristy movement. I will agree that it does seem slower off the face so I can't be afraid to give it.

Just picked up an ER 1.2 yesterday and took it out for it’s maiden voyage today.

Really love the weight to the head and the feel off the face. Agree that the ball doesn’t come off as hot as most putters I’ve used before, but I think that will be a good thing for distance and speed control in the long run.

To each their own, but my initial impressions from rolling putts in store and on the course today are very good, and I think they’re absolutely beautiful too which definitely helps!

If an ER2 is considered “slow” what putter would be considered “fast”. My miss right now is definitely short. Really intrigued by SIK and Cobra DLT

It’s their specific groove tech that makes them slow. I think the White Hot insert is pretty fast, as is Bettinardi’s Roll Control and FIT face groove tech. I assume Taylormade’s pure roll inserts are relatively “fast”….tbh Evnroll is the only putter that i personally know of that is known to be “slow” and thats because they have that unique rife groove tech

It does. My brother had one.. great putter but most of the time you think you under hit it... but its sneaky and it gets there. Wasnt really a big deal i loved it.

I agree- I haven’t had any issues with lag putting; in fact, I’ve improved. I’ve had the same experience with putts that I thought I left short only to be pleasantly surprised how close I got it.

Evnroll really works for me.

I use an Evnroll. The thing with them is they are a little like GI irons. They hit soft in the centre so if you mishit, it goes the same distance. It has benefits but it might not be what the pros need. For us meer mortals though, it is amazing.
