Right, and my comment above does take into account the fact that the field is also putting really poorly by their standards (these greens are a thing of beauty), but we are talking about Tiger Woods here, probably one of the best three putters of all time. Something doesn’t seem right when Tiger is missing the hole by a few feet from 10-20 feet. His whole career he has gone on and on about how he hates slow greens and feels like that brings the field back to him; well what is his excuse now? These greens are lightning and pure as they get and he is still putting like a jabroni. I love Tiger and will always watch, but man is he playing some boring golf. It’s not Jim Herman/Matt Kuchar/Zach Johnson boring but holy hell it feels like it is getting close.

I didn't comment on anything you posted. Not sure why you quoted my reply.

As the course has for many other well known names in the field.  BTW where has @tw_focus been lately? LOL!

To wit JT +7, Morikawa +8,  Rahm +6, Na +6, Berger +7, JDay +10,  Champ +11, Im +11, Streelman +16, Leishman +18.

Too many here need to temper any expectations whenever Tiger plays and stop acting surprised when he doesn't. The Tiger that won at Augusta and the Zozo is gone. All we have now is ceremonial Tiger.

tw_focus advised to bet the house on Woods a few weeks back at the PGA so he's probably still looking for some new digs.

A year or so ago he had already won twice in his comeback so those people who said he would never win again a year ago were dumb as he had already won the 2018 Tour Championship and 2019 Masters. Since he won the Zozo last fall in Japan his play has been poor by his standards.

His results since the Farmers this year have been worse than at any time since his comeback at the start of 2018. By a bunch. This week is simply more of the same. I want to see him play well and win again. It's great for the game on all levels. However facts are facts and this version of  Tiger 2020 is nowhere near the same as Tiger 2018 or 2019. That can not be argued.

TW will be back and win #83+.  One thing we all should have learned about TW by now is to never doubt or count him out.

This Euro golf in England is good!

Always make me want a nice full Irish breakfast (yes, I know Ireland is not England/UK) Like we got at this dope B&B in Claire.

Only I get poached egg and no eat the pudding.

But alas, I’m still on quest for 4-pack (I think a six pack is out of reach for this old man, lol) so I just have dumb yogurt and  ?.

But I can dream....

Oh crap! Apologies.

Spanish Point, went to a relatives wedding at the Armada. Almost didn’t survive that one ; )

Played little golf at the local club. Lahinch is close but we didn’t get over there.

Had an amazing dinner at the Berry Lodge, beautiful setting, think I had rabbit...

Love different cultures and trying all kinds of food, but can’t get my head around texmex ?

Played little golf at the local club. There were small farms bordering the course with sheep like watching you play.  Lahinch is close but we didn’t get over there.

Man, that was a great swing by TW, just a foot or so from being great shot but dead on line.

That slow mo shows he’s still extremely athletic, still got that excellent kinetic chain strength and coordination.

If he just hang in with a somewhat respectable showing this week, on this course,  I’ll take it as an ok indication that he needs a lot of work but is still pretty good back/health wise.

Trying to find positives here!! ?

Is there anything "tricked up" at Olympia Fields right now or is this just straight forward brutalness all around?

Nobody is complaining about it.  It's just hard.  Most have been pretty complimentary about the course.

They said on the GC broadcast that Rahm took a one stroke penalty for picking his ball up on the green but forgetting to mark it.  Anybody see that?  That's a straight up brain fart right there.

The course is not tricked up, other than it in no way resembling what the members see.  It definitely shows that huge potato chip greens are not required to be difficult.  For Tiger, the last two weeks have not shown any great positives, other than not hurting himself.  Rahm's moment of loss of mind was poor, but he reported it and no controversy.

Thanks, why are the scores so low?  Just a combination of rough, length, firmness, green speed and, just plain dificult course that really penalizes bad shots?  If it's this "easy" to have guys not shoot crazy low, why does the U.S. Open have to "trick up" so many courses that it's become a joke?

I didn't say anyone was complaining.  It wasn't a rhetorical question, I was literally asking the question.

Yes I understand.  But when courses are tricked up players will let you know by complaining about it.

Yep, fair enough but you obviously thought I was suggesting something.  I"m not a tourney golfer, I'm legitimately trying to understand how two guys in the whole field are under par when there isn't any obvious craziness, 40mph winds, putts rolling off back of greens, 10 inch rough, etc.
