AMT Tour > Elevate Tour

I've been playing the AMT for several months and really like the shaft.  But I've been a long time DG user and am just thinking of some projects to tinker with over the Fall/Winter.  The Elevate Tour intrigues me because I'm a low ball hitter but it's more of a mid weight shaft.  Probably a slightly smoother shaft and higher launch.

Just wondering if anyone made the switch (preferably in the same  heads) and what were your experiences?  Worth the price to switch?

I had the Elevate's since they were stock in my Apex but I switched them out for Nippon's. The Elevate's felt dead and didnt have good feedback.

I agree with this...

I replaced my KBS $-Taper 125s for the Tour Elevate 120s in the X-flex SS once.

Similar flight but the VSS really works and the shaff is smooth even on partial shots.

Smoother than the $-Tapers, which is hard to believe.

No problem holding  greens and again similar to the $-Tapers.

Not sure if there is much of a difference with the lighter Elevates like the Stock Callaways but I love my 120s.

Just a quick update.  I ordered a 3-PW Elevate Tour stiffs but only shafted the 3I test (originally AMT Tour White).  I'm impressed with this shaft. Much better/smoother feel but not loose.  Higher launch but not ballooning.

Can't wait to get the rest of the set shafted up.

To me the two shafts are totally different in feel and performance.  I've had the AMT's in two sets of irons and absolutely hated them.  One of the worst feeling iron shafts I've ever used.  And I'm a long time DGS300 player.  I have the Elevate Tour's in my TEE irons now and they are phenominal.  Feel is superb.  Trajectory is perfect.  Loving them so far.

Do the elevates play to flex? If playing 6.0 in the LZ, would i be just fine in the s300? speaking hypothetically of course, I will test them at some point but want to tell my guy what to have before I go.

A little soft to flex I used to play S400 I play the elevate in x 100 for a little extra weight 122 grams I think u will be fine in either one not that big of a difference. If you are really smooth and 6 iron Ss less than 85 I say s300.

Interesting, my SS with 6 is low 90s.. sounds like I should lean toward x100? I play LZ 6.0 and they sometimes feel a little soft for my transition, but I don't want to go a ton heavier so have stayed with them instead of popping up to 6.5

For those that have played the AMT's did you find the long irons did not play true to flex?  If you were on the fence between two flexes would you go with the stiffer flex so the long irons held up well or did you think they held up well even though they were lighter?

I felt they held up well.  They were slightly higher launching than DG but I didn't find them soft enough to warrant going up a flex. This was with AMTs up to the 3I.

Thank you.  I figured the flight would be higher (which is a good thing in long irons) just was unsure if they started to feel soft to flex

I hope I can answer this for you too.  I have 2 sets of irons, 1 with Lz 6.0 and 1 set with Tour Elevate X100...same for me the Elevate just feel more solid, but smooth at the same time.  The 2g difference in weight doesn't make one bit of difference to me.

Any comparisons to the XP115 (in X100 if possible)?

The Elevate Tours sound like a potentially a good replacement once I can't find the XP's anymore.

I think the Elevate Tours are a follow on the the XP series which is a follow on to the Dyanalite Gold XPs. Very nice shaft if you like that profile.

Thanks a lot! I am very close to making the switch to the elevate tours. Sounds like they would fit well for me. Anything you could share on the difference between Elevate and LZ? I play my LZ's in Srixon Z585s.

I have my Lz’s in 565’s...while the Elevate are in my Pxg 0211’s. For the most part, I’m getting same distance/trajectory, etc. the main difference for me is the feel/feels to be honest. I feel like the Elevate I can swing and it’s gonna produce time and time again (more stable/solid) where as the Lz I have to have a more deliberate controlled swing (not a bad think, just have to concentrate on that a little more).  Also my main difference in “feel” is that after a round with Elevate I have nearly zero elbow/hand pain where as with Lz much more noticeable...and I’m sure it has a lot to do with the Vss built into the Elevate shaft.

Absolutely NOT.....Once you get to the 6 Iron it's a very different feel from standard DG.

If you are playing the Tour Issued S400's or X100's You really won't notice much difference from 7-8 & 9-PW are literally the same shafts you would get with a normal set.

The Vss really works definitely not a gimmick lots of people switching to these shafts after hitting them.

I'm looking to move on from the ol' faithful DGS300's due to by old fingers and elbow starting to really feel it.  Sounds like I should look into the Elevate?
