Nike Footwear 2021 (Unofficial Thread) (***NO BUY SELL TRADE POSTS***)

Recommended Posts

so I bit the bullet and purchased the AM 90s after some recommendations here. I don't understand the hate people have for them online, they are actually a very comfortable shoe and the grip is good enough. Now would I recommend it in super wet conditions? Obviously not, but it's a great walking shoe as the foam does it's job.

i sprayed my seersucker ZITS two times before wearing them yesterday and the toe box was UGLY after the round.  They cleaned up relatively well but there is still a brown tint all around the front of the toe box...  and it was a bone dry day yesterday.

Im going to have to just accept the fact that they wont stay clean because man they are comfortable

I've got 2 rounds in them, 1 more tonight, then sending back. Dew-sweep round yesterday did them in. They must be the worst material ever for a golf shoe.

I completely agree.

Are they as comfortable as my AJ11s?  Absolutely not.  But they are way lighter than my AM1g (which I also love).

No spikeless are great in wet...AM1g included.

+1 for my AM90g Infrared and South Beach....

I bought the greens one myself, I'd get the Infareds but I don't really have stuff that would match them.

My other gamers for walking have been the AM1Gs which I got last year. I actually really love those too. They have a bit more grip than the 90s but not that much where it's super noticeable. I do need to consider new shoes that I need in super wet conditions, but I haven't decided on what yet.

A little bit of soap and water will fix that brown spot.

These PGA Championship ZITs and 90s are not an everyday golf shoe.  They are made of a cloth material...they ARE going to get dirty no matter what you do to them.  If you really want to keep them, just give them a good cleaning after the round as much as you can.  I know they are cool looking and all, but that material is not a practical golf shoe material.

It is what it is...

Scotchguard has been a lifesaver on many of my shoes. I also use it on my hats (especially the white ones). I do stupid stuff like hit my balls under trees where I end up scuffing my hats. The scotchguard will normally save them.

Anyway, there wasnt supposed to be able rain on Sunday. I wore my PGA AM90s. Bad move. Even with dewy grass the water wouldnt stay out. My feet were soaked within an hour. The scotchguard has made my shoes relatively water repellent in the past, so I'm not sure what was up. Anyway, it rained the last 5 or 6 holes. Shoes got shredded. I gave them a good scrub. Then I let them soak in oxyclean overnight. Then I put them through the washer with some towel on easy/cold. Waiting for them to dry so I can see what the damage is. 😞 If they turn out ok, I might retire them and use them for around town. Too bad, sick looking shoe.

Now I need to think long and hard about if I want to even wear the ZITs, or just sell/return them.

100%. If not for the return policy there is no shot I would ever buy a $180 cloth golf shoe.

Nike designers are having a rough time IMO......nothing looks good to me lately.

This is what happens when you have non-golfers designing golf shoes.  I believe it was mentioned a couple years ago when nike golf was downsizing that the golf shoes line was being assigned to the nike SB skateboarding designers?  I think the non-golf shoes being offered are cool and all, but golfers still want shoes that specifically perform for golf.

Lunar Control 3 is still one of my all time favorites golf performance-wise.

Nike is a very "cool" company but their golf designs are really bad.....I see Rory on the course and sometimes wonder "what the hell is he wearing"

hopefully the shoes get back on track. right now, they are not for me

Sounds like user error for wearing in the AM with morning dew and then double error for not being up to date on the forecast. It’s a cloth shoe. I find it amazing how people can’t figure out they’re not gonna be an everyday thing.

Yeah, I said it was a bad move. I also said that the Scotchguard has kept water out in the past. Cool to pile on though, huh?

I was just trying to relay my experience, commiserate with fellow members, and share what I had done to try to remedy the situation. Silly me. 🤷‍♂️

EDIT: Shoes have dried and look great. Slight wrinkles from the cloth drying from being soaked, but no sign of discoloring. I gave them a quick scrub with my shoe brush and some soap, then left them upside down in a sink full of oxyclean and luke warm water. Gave them a second scrub, and repeated overnight. Left on a heater vent and they look great.

Finally got to wear a pair of 90s on the course and mannnnn are they comfortable. Moreso than the 1s IMO. I was skeptical of the tread but they were fine

Couldn’t agree more. Entire 2021 catalog is hideous. They need to clean house and bring in some new designers. The shoes and the shirts are hideous. I have always been a big Nike guy but the other brands are surpassing them in terms of comfort and style. They got some work to do.

Agree to disagree when it comes to the shoes. The VT2 arent great, imho, but the rest of the lineup has been solid. Are they bringing in a bunch of stalwart OG designs? Yeah. Do I love it? Hell yeah. The ZIT dont fit lots of people, which is a different issue, but I love the style.

That being said, some of those polos are pretty weird. And the hats last weekend, dont even get me started.

I’m not sure what the base color is. Here is the other us open hat available now. Who knows what the shoes will look like. The hats don’t always share the same patterns as the shoes.
