Still one more week to earn points, right?

Yes and no.  . . . Here is the breakdown for Q-Series following this week's event:

Quote

2021 LPGA Tour Members ranked #101-150, including those tied for 150th place on the LPGA Points List at the conclusion of the 2021 Cognizant Founders Cup.

It would seem that it is also possible to still advance up the points list at the Pelican:

Quote

2021 LPGA Tour Members ranked #101-150, including those tied for 150th place on the LPGA Points List at the conclusion of the 2021 Pelican Women’s Championship. Members qualifying through this category will be entered when identified.

What is not clear is whether the players who is ranked 101 - 150 at the conclusion of the Founders Event can, with good play/results, move up in to the top 100 AND no longer need to qualify via Q-series.    OR  if they still must qualify via Q-Series and this event is only intended to "capture" thos players that fall down into the 101-150 rank post Pelican.

@Argonne69 . . . I hope that makes some sense! 😂

Unfortunately, it doesn't make sense. Lol. Not sure if it's a typo, or some type of ancient legalese. I read that, and scratched my head.

Yes, for these four players.

But, the season is done for most of players outside of #100 on CME Points.

How so? Can't the 101st ranked player earn points and move into the top 100?

Most players outside of #100 are like Andrea Lee, #105, who isn't qualified to play this week and the next several events.  Of course there're exceptions like Cristie Kerr, #108, who has higher priority status based on her 2019 results.

Lydia Ko withdrew from Cognizant last week while she's playing in Korea; but Minjee Lee soldiers on without a hitch:

Do you know if Tina is okay?

1st, she was not fast enough to pull the trigger to get Dean Herdin on Lydia's bag for the Hana.

Now she isn't FORCING her ATM..ooops....I mean Lydia.... to play this week for another pay day?

The Pelican event also has two spots open through Monday Qualifying . . . so it is conceivable that a player ranked 101-150 is among those two spots and with a good showing, could move up inside the top 100 ranks.

But as pointed out, these are very limited circumstances.

Toto now only a JLPGA event

Will the BMW do the same?....I'm think no.

It seems that it's only for this year.  But, the CP/AP story below notes the PGA Tour is still going to Japan this year.

Good jobs, Mollie!

"This partnership elevates us to a whole different level,” LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan told Golfweek.

The Chevron Championship will stay at the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills for 2022 in its traditional spot ahead of the Masters, and ANA will stay on as a partner for next year. The purse will increase 60 percent from $3.1 million to $5 million, putting it now ahead of the $4.5 million purses both the Amundi Evian Championship and KPMG Women’s PGA awarded in 2021."

We don't need to look more than Rose Zhang when we speak of a juggernaut; she Just won her 2nd NCAA individual title in her 2nd NCAA start:

Hmmmm. Turn pro early, or stick around four years to grab that coveted Juli Inkster Senior Award. Tough choices.

Except Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, along with Google are banned in the Peoples REpublic of China.  So what you really mean is Weibo and WeChat.

Weibo

China is a tough market for outsiders to crack!  Muni He has been on Weibo for a while, but only with 42,800 followers.  Emma Raducanu started her Weibo page on September 15, 2021; she's picked up 16,500 followers thus far.

They may never catch stars like Mi Yang, who's 111,000,000 followers.

How thoughtful is this....The Mini Rocket jogs down to check up on a person she hit with her drive....all the while.....contending for a KLPGA major.

I saw Ju Young play the 2015 CWO when she was a LPGA member, Kylie Pratt was on her bag...a past loop for big sister.

I'm guessing @Argonne69 might be another one who might have witnessed a Mini Rocket sighting too.

Geez, heaven forbid that the silly camera crew doesn't check on the poor girl. Just kept filming her instead. Mighty thoughtful of them.

LUV The Smiling Cinderella...CONGRATS!

Huh???.....Shibuno using a local loop???

Shibuno is PURE CLASS....clapping for Miyu Sato's birdie on the 1st playoff hole.

What bad luck...Sato's approach shot hitting the pin in the 2nd playoff hole.

Poor girl...crying so hard...she must watch too much Bubba.

I'm thinking Miyu the Am....might get an invite to the Toto???

There's some really good golf to watch on the JLPGA & KLPGA.

Anyone gonna sign my petition to The Invisible Woman....a new dress code on the LPGA....skorts & knee highs.

The BoD of the LPGA needs a WAKE UP call.....JLPGA commish Hiromi Kobayashi should have been selected as the new LPGA commish.

Drought is "over"... She should ditch Adidas and go back to Beams (for all tournaments - she does wear Beams for local tournaments)... for me, personally, Beams > Adidas anyway in attires (must be the Asian in me LOL)

Shibuno does use local loop(s) in Japan... she has quite a few local loops there - she actually cried when she won one tournament in 2019 (or was it 2020, i don't remember anymore) as it was the first time her "usual" loop won with her (her having won with other caddies prior to that one - she cried on the caddies "behalf" LOL)

Either way, hope she's rounding into form and success in the JLPGA doesn't change her views on going to Qseries in December...

Excerpts from the Smiling C after her win (using Google Translate for you guys) -- I can understand some Kanji and Hiragana/Katakana but this is the easiest/faster:

I'm really happy!
It was hard to win and I was often criticized for swing remodeling, but I continued to make steady efforts at home and abroad.
When I saw it in Takino Country, I believed that I would practice more than anyone else and will do it again
already! happy! Very! happy! happy! thank you!

Also greeted Happy Birthday to her "manager" , dedicated the victory to her longest tenured benefactor (RSK - the Okayama media/broadcast station you see with logos on Shibuno's attire -President passed away a few months ago) etc etc etc...  Shibuno's from Okayama as FYI, added new wedges (46, 51, 54, 57 degrees vs before at only 51 and 57 in the past) in her bag during the offseason, etc etc etc
