Golf club specs bleeding into regular life?

Recommended Posts

I've gone from "standard" men's specs in my youth at 6' tall, to 1/2" long-3-4* upright in my 40's due partly to a better fit and also having a bad lower back for the last 20 years.

Today was really nice 55-60* degrees and sunny. The snow just melted last week, so everything is nice and dry out. I decided today was the day to scoop the winter accumulation of dog poo in the back yard. It's a daunting task post winter/snow. I'm one who has to wait until things "dry" until I can stomach this task. In the heat of summer it's no problem ,but any other season it's dicey. I got half way through my task and my back was having none of it and I had a funny thought of how nice it would be to have a light all aluminum shovel bent a few degrees upright to alleviate some bending over.

Am I going to far?  I'm about to have a family friend fab one for me if the price is somewhat reasonable. I think it's worth the effort to reduce the risk of my back acting up from something other than golf!

Hahaha, you’re about to revolutionise the world of manual labor through fittings! Cheers!

I can't help myself when I'm scooping. The sliding patio door is reflective so I do some mirror work using the scooper as a club.

Unfortunately once I didn't realise there was a chunk still stuck to the scoop and my swing flung it onto the wall above the door and it stuck there. My wife wasn't too happy.

This is the style that I have, ideal for golf swings:

That looks promising. I'm gonna contact the High School metal shop teacher. These are the perfect projects to farm out to the students!

Haha lots of great ideas in this thread!
Reminds me of when i was little. My dad (who too was OBSESSED w/golf and why im here) had to collect a urine sample of our 110lb golden retriever. Now how is one supposed to do that??
EASY! Tape the cup to the end of an old wedge and follow the dog around the yard of course!

Also wedges are a fantastic tool for picking up the huge messes toddlers/small children can leave behind.
