I genuinely believe the reason for the nOThiNg fEelS LiKE A MiZunO crowd’s incessant commenting is that many of their designs have very low CGs. It’s an awesome forging 100% and they do feel great but for so many bad golfers, they can get that feel without having proper shaft lean, attack angle, or low point. If you make any sort of decent contact with the ball they will feel good - doesn’t matter if you aren’t compressing it properly. Anybody with good speed and proper delivery knows how good a ton of other clubs feel and though mizuno has something distinct but different from the likes of Miura or Srixon, most one-piece forged irons will feel great out of the meat.

I think you might be on to something here.  Almost any level of ball striker can claim to get that mizuno “feel” from avg contact.   I never thought of it that way but it does make sense.  And its not like they dont feel nice but the incessant love they get is a bit over the top..especially when the performance & feel of other irons are superior, imo.    I built a combo set of P7MBs/MCs/770 and they have as good or better feel and i prefer their performance so far.     And i dont have to rave about my Srixons either, but they might be best of the 3 i named.   Zforged/Zx7 combo and they are awesome.      To each their own , right.   I just had to laugh wit some of the constant mizzy comments

Exactly. I’ve hit the Srixon ZX5 and 7s  quite a bit and they definitely feel great. Also have owned a few sets of forged Tourstage, TM and Titleist irons that were all great feeling. And the Mizunos I’ve owned and hit have all felt really good to me. Like you said, hit pretty much any quality one piece forged head on the screws and it’s quite pleasing. Besides feel is personal. One isn’t better than another it’s just different, and different people like different things. To flat out say A feels better than B so B isn’t good is kinda short sided (lame). It just feels better to you. I’m sensing people don’t have a problem with Mizuno as a brand. They clearly make quality irons. People have the problem with the annoying people that think Mizuno is the only iron that “feels like butter” and won’t shut up about it. Which honestly I haven’t really run into. I’d say if anything there are more people around that won’t STFU about Srixon irons these days and how “omg so amazing” they are like they’ve reinvent the wheel! Lol 🙄 We even have threads about them pinned at the top of sub-forums! Haha

How can you tell someone ♥️♥️ Srixons… Don’t worry. They’ll post about it. Then again, and again and… Then they’ll start a thread about how annoying Mizuno fans are only to a few posts down say how amazing, you guessed it!, Srixons are!!! 😂

Hahaha. U right man.  I was really just posting it to bust chops & have a little fun.  I myself, was a long time MP14 player, which were awesome clubs.   And i played em as a kid & thru high school, with much success…so they do have a sentimental hold…and your take on the Srix folks is right on as well.   Two solid brands & really nice forged sticks.     I do think the Srix perform better and i guess i can only compare, first hand, wit the MP14s & 32s.

A couple things I do appreciate about Mizuno as a brand is that their irons tend to be a little cheaper than the other major brands and they offer a large option selection of no upcharge shafts which isn't always the case. If I have to spend an extra $200-300 on an ideally fit shaft elsewhere then I'll certainly be swayed to Mizuno.

I had never owned a Mizuno iron until I got the MP 20 MMCs last year. They've been great. They feel great on well struck shots just like any other iron does. I really really like them but its not like they are made with some type of magic dust.

Actually they are... its copper magic dust. I have them too they are great.

Wow, a lot of Mizuno hate! I didn’t realize that’s a thing! 🤷🏼‍♂️ I like Mizuno a lot. Don’t dislike any OEMs cept maybe PXG just bcs of the obnoxious advertising. Oh well.

Not hate but if they won't give a lefty the same quality control as a righty  then why would a lefty ever buy from them... My whole point is that Mizunos are NOT better than Srixons.  Quite the contrary!

I agree that Mizunos aren’t better than Srixons. Both are great and you can’t really go wrong with either. Play whichever brand works better for you! I will add the Mizunos are a little more universal as not everyone gets along with the v soles. But if you do they’re fantastic.

Interesting that some people are saying that mizunos feel better than most on mishits. I find it to be the opposite for me. I can tell exactly where I missed a shot with my mp60s which is what I like. When I grab a friends callys or TMs, everything feels the same to me (and trust me I don’t hit the same spot). To each their own.

You can see yourself out, pal.

@getitdaily I'm still a card-carrying member of the Mizuno fan club.  I've lived and breathed NOTHINGFEELSLIKEAMIZUNO for 20 years.  Had no intention of looking at another brand (or changing my irons out all, actually).

So I was amazed to find something that felt better.  Because my Mizzys still feel like the sh!t.  I have bags at my dad's house in Jacksonville, my buddy's house in Jersey and my sister's house in Boston.  All Mizunos.

But I do think @TigerInTheWoods has a point.  A well-struck shot with any quality forging is going to feel good.  Mizuno, Srixon, Miura etc.  And the feel is slightly different between them, to the point where a group of golfers (all good golfers who flush their irons) will debate which are the best.

I feel like this only applies to select places like this forum. Most out in the 'real world' are surprised when I say I play Mizuno irons (should note I am talking the types you would see at charity events).

Haha yes! A few times talking with  people that don’t even play golf I’ve said I have Mizuno irons and I’ve heard, “they make golf clubs?”

Let me guess. They all have mostly TM and Callaway?

I have owned 3 sets of Mizuno irons (last being 919 Forged) and honestly they are nothing special.  If someone likes them and they work for your game definitely get a set but they are definitely not the best feeling irons I have ever hit.

Good point I would tend to agree that they’re nothing special. As in they’re not “ground breaking”. Just really good irons that seem to work for a lot of the people that try them. Plenty of really good irons from other OEMs that work for a lot of people as well.
