Any other brands/drivers you compared to?

The STg 220 didn’t just kick my SIM 2 out of the bag it beat the hell out of it and  launched it out!🤣 So much more consistent and forgiving. And long to boot! Really can’t think of a bad thing to say about it.

Did you compare to others with any significant differences?

Compared to the RADSpeed that it replaced both of the Mizuno's were more consistent across the face for spin and overall lower. Ball speed was about 1 MPH lower with the Mizuno but launch conditions made up for that.

Now that I've had a few rounds at home with it I am, on average, hitting it a little bit longer than the Cobra but much more consistently.

I agree! Most forgiving driver that I have played in a long time. Really loving this thing.

I actually moved the weight from the back toe side to the back center so both weights are in the back now. I feel it’s even more forgiving now. The ball really looks like it explodes off the face with this club! I have never experienced this with any other driver in my 30+ years of playing!

I don't think I have quite the right shaft fit yet and I find this driver to be pretty darn long and rather straight. Has a "don't go left" bias (which I like). Ball careens off of the fairway more than I'm used to seeing. It's a true low launch/low spin head and am not used to that.

Agree on feel. Middle hits are very nice, higher up can be harsh. My gut says there's a lot of upside yet see with this head.

Longest driver I've had, and coupled with the ventus black TX  and minus 2 setting the most anti-left as well. Absolutely locked into a left to right curve. I often mishit it in the heel and while it's quite punishing for distance, it usually ends up as a spinny little cut which works out very well for keeping it in play. I'd say it's very forgiving for being such a low spin set up.

It's the only driver I've tried that really flattens out the trajectory.

Tried the stealth out of curiosity for the carbon face. Found it didn't feel/sound as good as the mizuno. Also wasn't as fast and long for me.

Just got my st-g in today and got it to last two shots. 😞 probably a hosel shot on my part honestly. Hopefully can get it replaced without waiting the 8 weeks again2CB94FC6-5769-47CE-AB96-FAF6A4D91540.jpeg.09d75fd325f207b0b4452fc69412d587.jpeg

Wth. How does happen? I don't get it how a hossle shot snaps a shaft right there. Are you super fast swing speed?

I’m not super high but I’m above average id say. It’s either me or I have some seriously poor luck because I recently made a post about the same thing happening to kmy ad di hybrid shaft. I guess I’m also hitting off mats but they’re quality mats.

Even if it is me, I’ve never broken shafts in my 6 years of playing until the last 4 months so I’m at a loss.

Man that sucks. If it's happened twice it's prob no fluke. Maybe your club delivery into the ball is too steep and your jamming that part of the club into the ground basically with such velocity and force it snaps the shaft. Just a guess and probably I'm wrong can't imagine your driver being swung in that manner.

I hope they warranty your driver.

Whoa sorry that happened.  Maybe having a back up shaft or two with the adapter so that you don't miss out.

If I hit my driver that bad where the ball hits the hosel, I think there are bigger issues going on…….no offense…….😄

Can anyone tell me the head weight of a 220 g with screw but without the adapter....The one i have is 197 grams but swing weights at D1  with a stock HZRDUS smoke rdx shaft...The club seems to be just over 45 inches.....I was told it should be D3.

TXG said their demo STG was 195 grams I believe. Without adapter I'm sure, not sure if it included the screw.

Reviews say if your miss is right should shy away from G and look at Z/X.  Still feel all would do well with neg AOA?

Take every review with a grain of salt.

I'm a fader of the ball and have been hitting the G fantastically. Both weights up front and lofted up (i.e. closing the face).

The review reference may be due to the fact that in the "standard" setting on the Mizuno adapter the face is actually slightly open.

100% correct with the salt.  Thanks for the advise.

  • 3 months later...

No one will care but been using one this year. Took me a while to meld with it but it's a monster, it's long and eats a lot of terrain on the ground too. True low spin bomber. Easy head to over shaft on. My "S" from other Mizuno was plenty stiff. Bad swings are ugly. Likes wide hand path and flat approach. Pretty responsive to trajectory. Low draws and big fades, on command, good intuition. I'm going with full set of new Titleist's but I'm keeping this around and toying with it.

The STZ that I recently purchased, knocked my Stealth Plus out as well. The distances were similar, but the more balls in the fairway was the deciding factor. I didn’t even pick up more spin. If anything, I may have knocked a few numbers off with spin. The feel is just as good as the Stealth Plus as well. I didn’t think that would be touched as I had hit a lot of heads during my fitting with the Stealth+, but not this one unfortunately.

In regards to the STG, if the spin is lower, it would be too little spin for me. I’m already around the 2400 mark on average.
