PXG Gen 5?

The difference between D2 and D3 is not noticeable for the vast majority of golfers.  PXG told me D2 was not an issue for the 70  g shafts I built with. and to go to D3 from there would only require 2 more grams of tip weighting or 1/4" of an inch in length.  Not really that difficult.

I worked with their head fitter in Canada and D0 was max... I'm not sure what to tell you.

I don't know what to tell you but c9 was without anything extra at standard length.  Go you know how easy it is to pick up 3 SW point? My fitter said up to D2  with a 70 g shaft.  Now put in a 115 gram shaft and see what it bumps to.  Easily could be made up to D4 with just a 2-4 gram tip weight.

I just called PXG in Arizona. The rep said they can't do D2 in 0211, and that is with MMT 80 gram stiff shaft. If they could do it, I don't see why he would tell me no.

I play my irons D3 and pxg said No for 0211.

I tried the old 0211 at D0 and my dispersion was wonky so i switched to 0311.

The feel of 0211 were amazing and the price is awesome, just need better sw options, a rear screw or weight port would be a game changer at that price point. My builds are TLT so a bit wonky.

just slap lead tape on the head, its what all of the pros do.

Perhaps they just don't want to, possibly due to the cost the extra build time would involve.

All it requires is one tip weight.  How much time can that take? Stock in 80g would be D0.  So 1/4" would bring it to about D1.5  I defy you to tell me which would be a 1.5 and which would be a 2.

HA!

"Over priced, Over hyped"

"Pricing is erratic and inexpensive"

Both reasons for 🔥🔥🔥🔥

If you purchased and a price change happens within timeline PXG will throw ya some credit. Getting mad a MFGR who moves pricing is like being mad at an auto MFGR for increasing rebates through the model cycle.

I bought a full fitted set of Gen3 irons and hybrid for full MSRP in March 2020 3 weeks before they did a price drop due to a covid credit. I contacted them in April and they wouldn't do anything for me. That was not the most pleasant experience I have had.

And no, that is not the same analogy. I have been in the luxury auto industry for 12+ years now and the rebates are not that simple; for luxury brands at least. I have had over 15 cars in the past 10 years and never even thought about that. But when PXG releases stuff and drops prices wildly or charges $100 for shipping to Canada then I stop. They are good products, but not for me anymore.

@Kamensorry for your experience. At least you have a full bag of really cool stix. On a couple occasions I've purchased and then..... DROP. On both occasions I was emailed a credit to use for hard or soft goods. Oh, and as a domestic auto dealer if 0% is offered late in the model year that essentially effects value of the one purchased prior to that offer. I'm certain a Lexus, MB, BMW may be slightly different to "insulate" their client from market changes but Ford, GM, Ram etc. Want to put trucks/SUV's in driveways and under "normal" times a guy who buys early in the model year almost always pays more as the MFGR increases incentives or "cash back" offers to move older stock. This business model will likely die post COVID, but time will tell. Anyway, I'm amped about any improvements @PXGSocialTeamis willing to make their fairways and irons.

They made changes on how they sell them. For the people who paid full pop, you should be upset. That is betrayal from that brand. They didn’t care about you in the first place.

now that they don’t pay to roll fitters out everywhere they are saving money. Now that they are becoming more direct to consumer they are saving even more. They made a business move. Their strategy put them in the middle of the golf industry in a short amount of time. The hard part is their pivot hurts some in the process. But it now put themselves before more golfers for the first time.

Every Company takes reductions on older models that the way it is done.

I laugh when people say PXG is over priced, but the new Ping I59's are 1800.00 for 8 clubs LOL

PXG has a 15 day return policy.  Demo some

I ordered my Gen 4 irons at D2 and they came out perfect at D2 with the MMT 80 shafts.

I checked every club and they were spot on.

Advantage Gen 4 rear center weight which is used to adjust Swingweight.

Makes life much easier for the builders to SW more easily.

...Hope they keep that in the Gen 5 irons.  Maybe add it to the upcoming new 0211 irons.

Their constant price changes is why I will never buy another PXG club...

you get a store credit if the price drops. Dont know the time frame of it but when I bought a proto wood and hybrid, I ended up with $120 credit. Gave me a great reason to upgrade another club with the extra $120

If PXG fixed their grip and shaft selection they would be the best golf equipment company.

They stock grip is just trash, put on a star grip for goodness sakes.

The shafts make no sense, MMT are free but they they charge you $40-50 to upgrade for shafts that cost a lot less than the mmt at golfworks.

I don’t understand why the Elevate gets a bad rep…it’s not a bad shaft.
