Your favorite SNL cast members of all time

The strong participation all three music threads (70's, 80's, and 90's) have experienced got me thinking. The fact that Saturday Night Live aired all these same decades gave me the following idea. Who were/are your favorite SNL cast members? Have a favorite sketch or two?

 I haven't watched SNL in a few years, but I did begin watching it the very first season all the way   through the 1990's.

I’d also add Chris Farley, Horatio Sanz, Jason Sudekis and Andy Samberg too. 
 

Favorite all time sketch is the Farley and Patrick Swayze Chippendales skit followed by Ferrell and Chris Walken Cowbell.

I had to limit myself to a dozen, but Sudekis was strongly considered. He is fantastic.

agreed.    on a golf course he comes across as such a try hard.

His old SNL stuff and most of his movies though have been exceptional. I suspect you have to be one of us oldsters to love Bill Frick'n Murray.  ⚡

I'm no spring chicken....I'm turning 61 soon.....I still DON'T like Murray.

Yes....the goof tries too hard at Pebble.

Pebble Pro-Am is so UNWATCHABLE with the celeb NONSENSE.

It's better on Sunday...they show minimal celeb play.

 

I wonder how long they closed the course before the event....Pebble looked immaculate considering the amount of play it receives.

Chevy Chase played drums in a three piece jazz band with a couple of guys in college. The two other guys became Steely Dan.

Colin Jost and Michael Che, the current weekend update team is the best during their run IMO. They just have a great back and forth. Amy and Tina were good, but these two, particularly when they wrote jokes for the other to read, is great humor.

 

My favorite skit performer is Chris Farley, his self deprecating humor was very funny to me.

Even with the hit-and-miss nature of sketches every week, Weekend Update is always a banger. The Peyton Manning cameo last week had me dying. 

 

From recent years I was always a fan of Beck Bennett.

I tried, but never liked SNL.  Just didn't find most of the skits funny.  But of the alumni I'm aware of that went on to make movies, I'd have to say I laughed most at Farley, Chase, and Ferrell.

Been watching since the premier and asking for my favorite performer is like asking which of my children is my favorite. So many were so good.  If I had to pick it would be John Beluschi. Loved his characters in Animal House and Blues Brothers. As Blutto, he reminded me of me when I lived in frat house my last year in college. And I danced solo to "Soul Man" at my daughters wedding before I had my one drink. 

 

$15/oz Mexican weed, Boones Farm Apple wine and Screaming Yellow Zonkers for the win!!

Gotta be Will Ferrell for me. He was just so amazing. His "best of " DVD's were like a murderers row.

 

For more under the radar guys i always thought Bill Hader was very funny

 

BTW---It's insane that they couldn't figure out what to do with Tim Robinson. Probably one of the funniest people to come out of SNL

I was in high school when it started and it was must see TV every Sat night, it seemed the more smoke in the room the funnier it was. Some of it is gold, I guess a lot of the writers in the 70's were smoking non stop as a lot of the comedy was a lot better if you were baked.
