One of the things that bugs me is the double standard applied to womens golf course setups vs mens.  If a women’s event varies tees during the event they are criticized for making the course too easy. But when it is done for the men it adds to strategy. The reality is the women play way more courses that test every club in the bag than the men.  The old course could have had similar scores with three clubs and a putter. I think this bias is jealousy from men who are not as skilled as the women and never will be.

Even look today the match play girls was better than the last 10 PGA tournaments, albeit match play is inherently more exciting but still.

What did Nelly hit into the 18th on Friday - a 5 hybrid. Some par 5 huh?

Yep, one of my peeves with women's golf is this crazy shortening of holes to create 'drama' or because they're playing into a wind - or diddums, is it just a widdle bit too hard for you today?

Just pathetic, play the course as it presents. And stop creating mini golf

So it's a bad thing for the women to hit the same club into par 5's that the men do?

Yea, for some reason, men believe that the women should play a harder course setup than the men do.

No, that's not what I am saying.

Reducing the length of a par 5 to a drive and 5 hybrid annoys me for any pro golfer irrespective of gender.

I guess the Masters isn't a major either then. The 13th and 15th are both easily reachable, and you rarely see anyone laying up.

A player still has to execute a 200 yd shot with trouble short and right, and a difficult bunker to get up and down from left. It's a very good finishing hole that produces drama.

Not according to the poster above, the hole was artificially shortened according to him by adjusting the tee. Therein lies the difference. Tees should only be moved up when the challenge becomes severe on particular days so I can’t agree.

And the Masters is clearly not the challenge as it was originally at the holes you mention  but there’s a limit as to how quickly, or if, changes can be implemented or made at all.

On many of our links courses over here, there are 100 yd walks back from the green just played to the NEXT tee but that’s away from this post.

I was about to say hogwash but I’m too polite and I’ve played with several lady tour players who elect to play off our tees as their driver distances are roughly equal to 6-9 handicap men.

Let's see how it goes.  Brooke probably has 2x the chance of SYR, whatever the odds are.  Of course, the first few holes (for both) can change the dynamic of the day quite a bit and potentially bring a lot more people into it.

So Yeon left a few putts out there, so I think she will give it a great run today.

What do you get for winning the LET order of merit or whatever it is called, Linn Grant looks good next to everybody she's just gotta play regularly to get into the mix.

Or is the fact she hasn't played an LPGA event this  season give her terrible status and she couldn't get in most events anyways?

Linn Grant's 64 in R4 today has helped to propel her up the CME rankings/possibly keep her LPGA card for next year?

Grant with a final round of 64 to move up to T4 at the moment.

linn-grant-of-sweden-plays-their-second-

And yet if she wins the LET this year she doesn't get an LPGA card, just an entrance to the final round of Q school.

Is that the case? Really?

If so, what a joke, the LPGA needs to change this, Linn or whoever wins the LET needs to go straight in to the LPGA if they choose.

Golly, LIV could destroy this shambles so easily.

Far superior.

It does not appear so.

The men's European Tour Order of Merit/Race to Dubai winner does not earn a PGA Tour card for many decades. (Unless this has changed this year with cooperation between the 2 tours, I am not sure.)

I can't work this out from the link in your post - does the 2022 LET winner get an auto top 80 LPGA tour card.....that's what they should get IMO.
